Jason let out a heavy breath, his lips curling into a wry smile as he watched her guard herself against him. “You still haven’t answered my question. Why were you coming out of the gynecology department that day?”
Wendy rolled her eyes. “I’m a girl. Isn’t it normal for girls to have, you know, girl problems? I wasn’t feeling well, so I went to see a doctor. Why are you so hung up on this? Why do you keep pressing me? What exactly are you trying to do?”
After a pause, she suddenly remembered what Thalia had said. She looked straight at him and asked, “Jason, don’t tell me you have a thing for me?”
Jason let out a short, amused laugh, almost like he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.
He shook his head, still smiling. “Seriously, what are you thinking? Our families are connected, so of course I care about you. I’m just worried you might go down the wrong path. How could I possibly like you? I only see you as my sister, alright?”
Wendy felt an unexpected sense of relief wash over her. “Thank goodness he doesn’t like me. If he did, everything would get way too complicated,’ she thought.
Wendy looked ahead and said, “Now that you know the reason, can you please get out of the car?”
Jason kept his eyes on her. “Is it really just that you weren’t feeling well?”
Wendy’s patience was wearing thin. “If you don’t believe me, go ahead, stalk me if you want. You’re acting like a total creep.”
Jason raised an eyebrow. “Alright, I’ll drop it.”
But Jason still made no move to get out. “My car’s out of gas. Just give me a lift, okay?”
Wendy’s expression darkened. “There are taxis all over the street. Just grab one and go wherever you want. I’m busy, I can’t give you a ride!”
Jason straight up pulled out his phone and transferred money to her.
Her phone chimed a PayPal alert: 3,000 dollars just landed in her account.
As the notification sounded, Jason looked at her. “So, can you give me a ride now?”
Wendy shot him a glare. “Seriously, what’s wrong with you?”
Her phone chimed again, another transfer: 30,000 dollars.
“You’re really losing it!” Wendy snapped.
Then another chime, 150,000 dollars had just hit her account.
“So, Mr. Campbell, where to?” Wendy’s whole attitude flipped in an instant. She was all smiles now, looking at him sweetly.

Chapter 464
Jason let out a soft snort and rattled off an address, Blue Night, where he had a dinner meeting tonight.
“Got it!” Wendy chirped.
She fired up the engine and headed straight for Blue Night.
Jason let out a soft snort. “You really jump at the sight of cash.”
Wendy kept her smile plastered on. “You’re absolutely right, Mr. Campbell.”
‘Who would ever say no to money?’ Wendy thought to herself.
‘150 thousand dollars! That’s my monthly allowance!’
Jason glanced at her, then reached over and tugged at her cheek. “Stop with that fake smile, you look ridiculous!”
Wendy was struggling to keep up the act, but forced herself to smile and play along. “Sure thing, Mr. Campbell.”
Jason didn’t say anything else. When they pulled up to Blue Night, he got out and walked away.
Wendy rolled down the window and called out, “Mr. Campbell, do you need me to pick you up later tonight?”
Jason turned back to her. “How much?”
“300 thousand dollars,” Wendy replied with a cheeky grin.
“Get lost,” Jason shot back.
