I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 48

Chapter 48 Matthew’s Offer

Wendy didn’t hold back at all, blurting out, “Are you actually gonna turn against your best friend?”

Matthew lowered his gaze for a moment, concealing his feelings, then looked up with a relaxed smile. “I only want to help you. I don’t know all the details.

“But from what I’ve learned, I think Darion picked the wrong side between you and Miya. He has to face the consequences.”

“You’re so cool!” Wendy gave him a thumbs-up. “I always thought you and Darion were super close, totally on the same side no matter what.”

Matthew let out a helpless laugh. “Darion’s my friend, but that doesn’t mean I’ll back him up blindly, no matter what he does.”

“You’re even cooler!” Wendy exclaimed.

She turned to Thalia urgently. “Thalia, do it! File for divorce and get that bastard out of your life for good.”

Thalia’s heart raced. She’d been on the verge of giving up, but Matthew had given her hope again.

“Are you… being serious?” she asked hesitantly. “That means you’ll be opposing Darion.”

Matthew paused, thinking. “Then we’ll keep it secret. I’ll get someone to reach you. We’ll handle everything in secret until the papers are served. Only then will we make it public.”

Thalia’s eyes sparkled. “Does it work?”

Matthew nodded, his gaze serious. “It’s possible. But you have to be completely certain. Are you really ready to divorce him?”

“I’ve made up my mind!” Thalia replied, her voice resolute. “I want a divorce. I never want to see him again.”

“Alright, you have my word. I’ll help you out,” Matthew said.

As the delicious dishes were served one by one, Thalia’s eyes grew misty, moved by the moment.

“Thanks, Matthew,” she murmured.

Matthew quickly waved it off. “Don’t look at me like that. I’m not doing you any special favor.”

Thalia laughed, her mood lightening. “Alright, so what’s the plan?”

Matthew said, “I only got back today, so let me get some rest. I’ll reach out to you tomorrow.”

He pulled out his phone. “Let’s add each other on WhatsApp.”

Thalia nodded, and they exchanged contacts.

Before having a meal with Matthew, Thalia’s heart had been empty and cold. But as she left, faint sparks of hope had begun to grow, giving her something to cling to.

As they sat in the car, Wendy couldn’t help but say, “Matthew is so much better than that bastard.”

Thalia stared out the window, her voice calm. “You can’t judge someone just by their face. I was with Darion for eight years, and I never thought he’d turn out like this.”

“True,” Wendy nodded, then said, “Let’s get the divorce done. Don’t let anything else bother you.”

“Thanks,” Darion grunted in agreement.

Now that the divorce was finally moving forward, Thalia had found a new purpose. She started sending out resumes nonstop. One voice-acting company rejected her, so she would just apply to the next.

No matter movies, TV shows, video games, commercials, or anime, she was sure she could do them all.
