“You always get revenge on anyone who hurts Diana. Are you really going to let those who tried to kill you walk away without consequences?” Darion said.
The night outside was thick and heavy, and the air in the dining room felt tense. Darion’s deep, magnetic voice carried a chill as his dark eyes locked onto hers, bringing back those memories of life-and-death
moments.
Thalia’s long lashes trembled. She thought about all the times she’d stared death in the face, about Matthew’s fake kindness and ruthless nature. She realized she needed to take revenge for herself.
She looked at Darion and nodded. “Okay, I’ll do as you say.”
Darion’s lips curled into a subtle smile, and a hint of admiration flickered in his dark, phoenix-like eyes. “You need to learn to protect yourself, to fight back, to take revenge. Make people fear you. That’s how you keep yourself safe from threats.”
Turns out, being strong alone isn’t nearly enough.
Thalia’s enemies were unknown, and she still had a lot left to do.
She nodded, finished off the rest of her salad, brushed her teeth, and lay in bed, thinking about her next
move.
Just then, Darion came in without knocking.
She asked, “Why didn’t you knock?”
“I’m here to collect my payment for your lesson,” Darion said with a smirk.
He was wearing a dark gray bathrobe, his short hair a bit messy. In the dim light, he looked especially handsome, his dark eyes locked onto her, full of mystery.
Thalia was left speechless.
He leaned in close, and it finally hit her what he meant by “collecting his payment.”
By the middle of the night, barely catching her breath, she whispered, “That’s five times already.”
“Yeah, there are still five left this month,” Darion replied, his voice low and husky.
He pressed a kiss to her shoulder and back, his voice hoarse.
Thalia closed her eyes and murmured, “That’s not fair.”
“Huh?” Darion looked up at her.
Darion’s gaze met hers. “What’s not fair?” he asked.
Thalia’s voice trembled as she said, “Ten times is way too much. Three would be just right.”
Darion let out a low chuckle. “I’m already holding back. If it were up to me, it’d be ten times a week.”

Chapter 174
“Go away!” Thalia said, half annoyed, half playful.
She tried to push him off, but she was too spent. Darion caught her wrist and placed warm, gentle kisses on her fingers.
Thalia’s heart fluttered, but she simply turned away, choosing to ignore the feelings stirring inside her.
After seven days in the hospital, Diana was finally free of all the toxins in her body. Darion brought her home to Rosewood Manor right away.
The weather was perfect. Edith supported Diana as they walked into the villa’s elegant courtyard, and as she admired the scenery, a smile lit up her face.
