Chapter 49 Birthday Party
Thalia’s tone went cold, a bitter, sarcastic smile tugging at her mouth. “I don’t have a sister. Where would I get a nephew?”
“Are you still going to keep messing around?” Trenton snapped, furious to the limit. “Get here right now!”
Thalia was ready to refuse outright, but she hesitated and said quietly, “Fine. I’ll go if you pay me.”
“What did you say?” Trenton couldn’t believe his ears. “That’s your nephew.”
Thalia snapped back icily, “I’ve always hated Miya, and you’re intentionally reminding me of this day. If you don’ t give me a reason to behave, I’ll show up and ruin everything. It’ll be your family’s disgrace, not mine, so why should I bother?”
“You damn troublemaker…” Trenton was so enraged that he almost collapsed.
Thalia toyed with a pen in her hand, completely unhurried.
Trenton wanted Thalia and Miya to reconcile and keep the family in peace, so he had no choice but to give in.
Sure enough, his voice came in, strained with suppressed anger. “How much do you want?”
Thalia smirked. “I’m a little short on money lately. Send me 2.5 million to help me out.”
Trenton gritted his teeth. “I’ve transferred it. Behave when you get there!”
Thalia laughed. “Got it.”
The moment the money arrived, Thalia’s mood lifted instantly.
‘Money really is the ultimate joy!’ she thought to herself.
She grabbed a few items and left for Blackburn Manor at once.
Once Sandra was nearly back to her old self, she returned to Blackburn Manor to recuperate, with doctors on call around the clock.
The party was held outdoors. The vast lawn was decorated festively, and many guests had brought their children along.
As soon as Thalia arrived, people came over to greet her. After all, she was still officially Mrs. Thalia Blackburn.
“Mrs. Thalia Blackburn, why are you alone? I saw Mr. Darion is back. He’s over there with Mrs. Miya Blackburn,” someone said with a teasing, gossipy tone, clearly eager for drama.
Thalia looked at her with fake shock. “You don’t know? Darion’s got a thing for Miya!”
That person froze, never expecting Thalia to spill the truth so bluntly.
She wondered, ‘Doesn’t she feel embarrassed? And she looked like she was only there to watch the show? Seriously?’
The woman was utterly dumbfounded, at a complete loss for words.
Thalia smiled faintly. “You all probably didn’t realize it. He married me just to hide his relationship with Miya. Now that everything’s exposed, there’s no need to pretend anymore.”
Right as she finished, Darion’s voice rang out, cool and cutting. “Thalia!”
He walked toward her with long, confident strides, dressed in a custom suit, his face sharp and breathtaking, his deep dark eyes exuding a dangerous chill,
He pulled her against him by the shoulder, his lips curving in a fake smile, but his eyes stayed cold, no warmth at all. “It’s not funny. Everyone knows you’re the only one I love,”
The woman holding her champagne left with a sulky expression.
Thalia looked at him. “Mad already?”
Darion’s gaze was frosty, rage simmering just beneath. “Can you just not cause a scene today? Please.”
