The call was on speaker, so Trenton heard the message too. His eyes widened in disbelief.

“That ungrateful brat! She actually changed her number! She was lying to you all along. She never wanted to see you!” Trenton shouted.

Shyla’s face went pale as she stared at her phone in shock. Suddenly, she started coughing violently, and a mouthful of blood sprayed out. Then she collapsed.

“Shyla! Shyla!” Trenton cried out, panic rising in his voice.

He’d been about to yell at her, but when she suddenly collapsed, he rushed over and shook her. When she didn’t wake up, he immediately called 911.

‘Shyla can’t die. If she does, how am I supposed to get close to Miya and Thalia?’ Trenton thought, his heart pounding with anxiety.

Those two ungrateful brats still cared about Shyla, at least a little.

‘She must not die, no matter what!’ Trenton thought fiercely.

After half a month of training, Thalia was way more steady now. When she came out of the basement, she spotted Bonnie walking with Diana in the garden.

Bonnie had a cute, well-behaved smile on her face, and Diana kept pointing here and there, looking really happy.

Her slow responses weren’t going to get better, but at least Diana seemed more lively with each passing day.

“Diana,” Thalia called softly.

She walked over with a bright smile, her voice full of warmth.

“Thalia,” Diana responded after a brief pause, finally turning her gaze toward her granddaughter.

“Look over there, the osmanthus is blooming,” Diana said, her tone gentle.

Thalia looked where Diana pointed and saw the golden blossoms in full bloom, more radiant and lovely than ever.

She walked over to Diana and asked, “Are you tired?”

Diana paused for a moment before answering, “Not at all. The air’s so nice today, and the sun feels warm.”

After a brief pause, she added, “Bonnie’s really wonderful. She’s such a kind and caring girl, always so respectful, and she keeps me smiling.”

Bonnie gave a shy smile and said, “Thalia’s always been there for me. I’m not great at much, so I just try my best to help her however I can.”
