Seeing how frightened Wendy was, Thalia hurried to reassure her. “Alright, stop worrying. He hasn’t noticed you, and he won’t find you anytime soon.”

Wendy looked at her, her lips trembling as she asked, “He’s been searching for me. Will getting married really make a difference?”

Thalia lowered her gaze and said, “We’re just betting on a possibility. Once you’re married, he won’t think about you that way anymore.”

She covered her mouth and rushed to the bathroom, retching.

Seeing this, Thalia grabbed a bottle of water and hurried after her. Watching Wendy retch like that, Thalia felt a knot of worry tighten in her chest.

“Wendy, has your period started yet?” Thalia asked.

After rinsing her mouth, Wendy replied, “Not yet. It’s still a week away.”

She gripped the water bottle tightly, her voice trembling with anxiety. Thalia, what are you trying to say? Don’t scare me.”

Thalia said, “You suddenly feel sick to your stomach, so I’m just worried, what if…”

“No way!” Wendy blurted out, shaking her head frantically.

“Seriously, there were several used condoms lying around, so there’s no way I could be pregnant,” she

After leaving the bathroom, Thalia dragged Wendy over to join Diana for a game of cards.

That evening, Jadiel had the guest room all set up. Thalia led Wendy over and said, “You’ll stay here tonight. Darion will send someone to take you home tomorrow morning, and I’ll come see you then. Just stay put for now, okay?”

Back in her room, Thalia took a shower, put on some skincare, and then opened the door to look for Wendy.

But she hadn’t expected Darion to be standing right outside her door.

She paused for a moment, then said, “I’m staying with Wendy tonight.”

But Darion replied, “We still have two more times this month.”

Thalia’s fingers curled slightly. “Can’t we do it tomorrow?”

“No, I want it tonight,” Darion said firmly.

With that, he walked right in and slipped his arm around her waist.

Thalia just stared at him, lost for words.

She said, “I’ll just send Wendy a message.”

She turned to grab her phone, but Darion pulled her back, leaned in, and pressed his lips to hers.
