Chapter 530
Now that Matthew was gone, everything from the past seemed to disappear along with him.
Thalia suddenly wasn’t sure if she should keep hating him anymore.
Suddenly, a hand waved in front of her face, snapping her out of her thoughts. She looked up to see Viola smiling at her.
“What were you thinking about? You seemed so lost,” Viola said with a grin.
Thalia lowered her gaze, her long lashes trembling slightly. “He was the one behind all the danger I faced in the past, but at first, we were friends.”
Viola blinked. “Are you sad that he’s gone?”
“I was just wondering what exactly Viola did to make him so loyal to her,” Thalia said, her hands balling
into fists at her sides.
Viola patted her shoulder. “Whatever it was, the truth is, he hurt you over and over. You shouldn’t feel sad for him. He deserved everything he got, even death. The moment he decided to kill you, you should’ve realized you two stopped being friends a long time ago.”
Thalia’s breath trembled as she looked up at Viola, then slowly nodded. “Yeah, you’re right.”
Viola gave a small smile. “Don’t let yourself get lost in meaningless emotions. That’ll only cloud your judgment and make you hesitate. What you need to do now is shut off your feelings and focus on getting stronger. After all, your enemy is the Holt family.”
“Viola.” Thalia called out.
Just then, Darion’s voice came from behind, cold as ever. “Don’t fill her head with nonsense.”
Viola shot back, “Isn’t what I said true?”
Darion walked over and stood in front of Thalia, his voice calm. “She really shouldn’t let herself get all lonely and upset over Matthew, but that doesn’t mean she should shut off her feelings completely. She’s only human, after all.”
Viola let out a mocking chuckle, giving Darion a half-smile. “You’re afraid she’ll stop caring about you if she shuts herself off, aren’t you?”
Darion’s gaze grew even colder.
“Ha, I knew it!” Viola was clearly amused. “Look at you, all nervous now, what were you thinking back then?”
Darion’s eyes grew even colder, his voice low and chilling. “So you don’t want the rest of your payment, huh?”
Viola’s smile froze, arms crossed over her chest. “Darion, that’s not funny. Don’t threaten me with money. I don’t like it.”

Chapter 530
Darion replied. “Then watch what you say and stop teaching others your nonsense.”
Viola scoffed.
She turned and walked away without another word.
Even after she’d gone quite a distance, they could still hear her muttering, “What a petty man.”
Darion was speechless.
He suddenly started regretting letting Thalia hang out with Viola.
Viola was a total wild card. Who knew what she’d do next.
What if Thalia actually picks up some of her bad habits?’ Darion worried, feeling a bit uneasy.
He turned to Thalia, only to see her giving him a weird look.
Darion’s heart skipped a beat, but he managed to stay composed. “What’s up?”
“Why are you picking on her? It’s not like I still like you. I stopped ages ago,” Thalia said.
‘She really knows how to twist the knife,’ Darion thought, feeling a pang in his chest.
Thalia changed the subject. “How are you planning to deal with Matthew?”
Darion replied calmly, “I’ll just turn him over to the Evans family.”
She looked at him. “Aren’t you worried the Evans family will come after you?”
“Matthew died from a sudden attack. What does that have to do with me?” Darion replied coolly, a dangerous chill flickering deep in his dark eyes.
‘Matthew died just like that? He got off scot-free, Darion thought, his mind icy and unforgiving.
After all those times Matthew tried to kill Thalia, Darion felt he should’ve suffered so much he’d wish he was dead. Living was supposed to be his punishment.
