The maid said. “Keith has been looking for you. He woke up and started crying when he realized you weren’t there.”

Thalia froze for a few seconds, then pointed at herself in disbelief. “Keith was looking for me?”

The maid nodded. ‘Yes, yes. You should hurry and check on him.”

Thalia was surprised. Keith had always been afraid of her. He’d gotten a little better lately, but he still wasn’t comfortable around her.

She said, “Go calm him down first. I’ll be there after I freshen up.”

The maid nodded. “Okay, okay.”

Thalia pushed open the door to the nursery and met Keith’s pleading gaze. The moment he saw her, he dropped the ugly doll in his arms and reached out to her. “Tally, hold me.”

She walked over, scooped him up into her arms, and asked, “Why are you crying?”

As soon as Darion walked in, he picked Keith up and carried him away.

Thalia finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Keith sniffled and said, “Tally doesn’t want me or you.”

Thalia was at a loss for words.

Darion raised an eyebrow “Really? You’re crying about that?”
