I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 609

Chapter 609

Last night, the moment Darion and Thalia stepped into the market, Darion picked up on something off

Someone was tailing them.

As soon as Thalia felt someone watching her, the bodyguards had already pinpointed those guys and let Darion know

Darion told Dax to keep an eye on Thalia from the shadows, while he went off to deal with those creeps himself.

Dealing with a bunch of small-time thugs like that was beneath Darion, but he didn’t want these pests messing up Thalia’s shopping or her mood, so he decided to take care of it personally.

But he never expected these punks to be so prepared. They were armed to the teeth with blades hidden all over.

Darion dropped his guard for just a moment, and one of them slashed him across the chest. The wound wasn’t deep, but it stretched a long way.

He quickly patched himself up, worried Thalia would notice he was missing and start overthinking, so he and Dax came up with a cover story on the spot.

The real reason he was gone so long was because most of that time was spent stitching up his injury.

After Dax finished his story, Thalia closed her eyes, her breath trembling. She couldn’t help but remember those times when Darion came back to her, covered in blood.

She lowered her gaze, and suddenly, a faint smile appeared on her lips.

Seeing her stay silent, Dax couldn’t quite figure out what she was thinking. He hesitated, then asked tentatively. “Thalia, are you still upset with Darion for hiding the truth from you? He just didn’t want to frighten you, that’s all.”

I get it now, Thalia said quietly.

She looked up at him, her gaze steady. “Ever since Vera started targeting me, has Darion ever had a moment where he wasn’t hurt?”

Dax paused, then nodded. “Yeah.”

As someone just watching from the sidelines, Dax said seriously, “Thalia, I’m not the smartest guy, but I’m just telling it straight.

“I don’t know what went down between you two before, but seeing how Darion treats you now, you’re all he cares about. He’d throw his life away for you, no question.”

Thalia looked away, her gaze drifting toward the distant mountains and forests, her eyes growing wistful. “Yeah, he’s always been risking everything for me.”

Dax blinked, puzzled. “Thalia, what are you getting at?”

“Nothing.” Thalia replied softly.

She pulled her gaze back. “Don’t tell him any of this, Dax. Diana raised you, so you’re supposed to be closer to me

Dax hesitated for a moment, then nodded. “Alright, I won’t say a word to him about you”

Chapter 609

Thaha didn’t bother asking why he’d ever teamed up with Darion. That was ancient history As long as he didn’t betray her again that was all she cared about.

She turned and headed back into the clinic.

The moment she pushed the door open, her gaze locked with Darion’s.

The doctor nearby couldn’t help cracking a joke, “Finally! If you’d stayed gone any longer, your man was about to go check the bathroom to see if you’d fallen into the latrine.”

Thalia was speechless.
