Thalia pressed her lips together tightly. She knew Helen was nice to her, but at the end of the day, she was still Darion’s

mom.

Now that they were getting divorced, Helen would definitely think about her son first.

Women’s intuition is always right, so Helen would never let her son get mixed up with Miya.

Emely is gone, and now Darion is supposed to take his place? That’s just absurd, Helen thought.

Thalia understood what Helen was thinking, but it still hurt. ‘Why am I the one who has to stand between Darion and Miya?’ Thalia thought.

Just as Thalia was about to speak, Helen took her hand again, her gaze softening.

“Thalia, please help me this once. As soon as I find someone suitable for Darion, I’ll let you two get a divorce. Whatever you want, I’ll agree to it,” Helen said.

Thalia had mixed feelings that she couldn’t quite describe. She forced herself to stay calm and asked, “What if he’s not okay

with it?”

Helen hesitated before replying, “As long as you show him you don’t love him anymore, he won’t be hung up on you. He’ll start noticing other girls.”

“You’re not him. You don’t know what he’s thinking,” Thalia said, pulling her hand away again. “This isn’t the first time I’ve asked for a divorce.

“We were finally about to make it happen, but you called us back here, and now you expect me to agree to such an outrageous demand.

“You can’t do this to me.” With that, Thalia got up and made to walk out.

“Thalia, do I have to spell it out for you? What good comes from butting heads with the Blackburns over pride?” Helen sighed heavily.

“Last night’s incident is already all over town. If word gets out about your divorce now, everyone will be convinced you are the one who hurt Keith.”

Helen looked at her, eyes calm and gentle, but her words made Thalia feel a cold chill. “Making a name for yourself in Oakwood won’t be easy.

“You used to be a voice actress. Didn’t you go to an audition recently? And didn’t someone else snatch the role from you?”

Helen stood up, walked over, and took Thalia’s hand again. “Thalia, agree to what I’m asking.

“If you do, no one will steal your roles again, and I’ll clean up your reputation. I’ll make sure everyone knows you’re innocent, okay?”

Thalia stared at her in disbelief. Helen’s words weren’t a request. They were a warning. And beneath them. Thalia felt the edge of a threat.

If she didn’t agree, she’d have no place in Oakwood. She’d be treated like an outcast. The Blackburn family had all kinds of ways to ruin her.

Thalia felt a cold dread wash over her, fingers shaking uncontrollably.

“Thalia, I’m doing this for you and Darion. You can’t stand Miya, and honestly, neither can I.

“She already cost me my eldest son, and I won’t let her mess up my youngest, too. So please, help me.” Helen stepped closer, her voice still gentle.

To Thalia, it felt like a razor-sharp knife was already pressed against her throat. If she dared to refuse, she’d be ruined without mercy. She gave a bitter smile. “Do I even have a choice?”
