Chapter 615
Okay. Thalia said, nodding.
She leaned heavily against a tree trunk, so exhausted she nearly blacked out.

Up ahead was a river, and the area opened up a little. The sky was getting lighter, and she could finally see what was ahead.
Dax was busy searching for food.
Thalia looked a mess. Her hair was tangled, her cheeks were scratched from branches, and sweat and dirt were smeared all over her. She was filthy.
She just plopped down on the grass, took a few sips from her water bottle, and then pulled out some survival biscuits from her backpack.
Dax, have some of this,” she said.
Jax turned around, surprised to see the survival biscuits. “You even thought to bring these?”
Thalia nodded, barely able to keep her eyes open. “Yeah. I knew I was being watched, so there was no way I could risk ighting a fire in the jungle. That’s why I brought these.”
Dax took the biscuits from her, sat down beside her, and started eating.
The survival biscuits tasted pretty bad, but they were good enough to keep her going. Once she finished, she shut her eyes.
Can we rest for a bit?” she asked.
Dax nodded. “Go ahead and rest. I’ll keep watch.”
Thanks, Dax, Thalia said, forcing a weak smile.
Dax waved her off. “Don’t mention it. Aren’t we friends?”
Thalia felt a surge of warmth in her heart.
she was genuinely touched that Dax, as a friend, would treat her this way.
she was determined to survive and not drag Dax down. If they could shake off their tail, they’d finally be free to leave this ›lace.
With Howard closing in, she couldn’t just keep running. It was time to fight back. Live or die, at least she’d have no regrets.
she was so worn out that her thoughts were all over the place. It didn’t take long before she passed out, fast asleep.
Ryan pulled up the tracker signal and showed it to Darion.
The jungle was huge, and the red dot on the screen kept flickering across until it finally settled in one spot.
Darion’s expression was grim, his face pale. He said coldly, “Spread out and surround that area. Stay alert on the way If you spot anyone suspicious, deal with them on the spot.”

Ryan nodded. “Yes, sir.”
Darion set off for the river, taking the shortest route he could find.

Good thing he’d planted a tracker on Thalia. Otherwise, in this endless jungle, he’d have no idea where to even start looking.
Just thinking about her daring to leave on her own made his face darken even more, anger burning in his chest
She’d promised him she wouldn’t do anything reckless before he fell asleep, but now, here she was, doing exactly that.
Darion was furious, but there was also a strange thrill stirring inside him.
She chose to leave alone, not wanting to drag them down. Did that mean he actually mattered to her?
But still, she shouldn’t have gone off on her own.
She should’ve told him what was on her mind.
She should’ve told him face-to-face that she was ready to let go of the past, that she wanted to start fresh with him.
He had to find her, confront her, and ask her straight up, what was really in her heart?
His earpiece buzzed, and he tapped it, his voice low and cold. “Speak.”
‘Mr. Blackburn, the Oakwood villa was attacked. Miya’s gone,” reported the bodyguard responsible for the villa.
Darion’s brows knitted together. “Who carried out the raid?”
I’m… still investigating. They moved fast, and their target was clear. It was Miya they were after,” the bodyguard said hesitantly.
Darion’s tone was cold as ice. “What about everyone else?”
‘Some are hurt and still out cold, some made it out okay. Miya’s the only one who was taken,” the bodyguard answered.
Alright. Handle things on your end. Call Jason, have him look into who’s behind this,” Darion said coldly, then hung up.
