I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 617

Chapter 617

Thaha dropped to the ground, not daring to move a muscle.

The nearest bullet landed right next to her head.

Thankfully, the cover they’d found was solid, completely shielding them from view.

Meanwhile, Dax was still on the move, never staying in one spot for long.

He kept shooting toward that spot as he shifted around.

Whenever Dax pulled the trigger, he never missed.

Thalia stayed perfectly still, barely daring to breathe. She cautiously peeked over in that direction.

Smoke and dust swirled in the air, and the sound of messy, hurried footsteps was closing in fast. There were a ton of them, and they were getting closer.

Thalia felt her heart drop, sinking lower and lower with every passing second.

Just then, someone turned and looked straight toward them. Thalia’s heart dropped, and without hesitation, she fired a shot at the figure.

All those hours of practice had paid off. Her aim was sharp, but she just couldn’t hit a vital spot.

But as soon as she fired, her location was instantly exposed.

Fortunately, Dax was there to back her up, pulling their attention away and making sure they weren’t about to rush over recklessly.

After all, they really had no clue how many people were with Thalia.

Before long, Dax ran out of ammo, and Thalia managed to wound two of them.

But to their shock, even more enemies were coming up from behind!

Thalia hurriedly shifted her position, quickly checking her magazine. Her eyes steeled with determination, ready for whatever came next.

But just then, she suddenly sensed an icy, chilling gaze fixated right on her.

She jolted, quickly scanning her surroundings. Then caught sight of a guy in camo gear standing on a branch just ahead

He wore a helmet, his face streaked with camouflage paint, gun already trained on her, his eyes cold and emotionless as he stared her down.

‘Damn… Thalia thought, her heart dropping in dread.

Thalia’s heart skipped a beat.

‘I’ve been spotted.

‘Would I even stand a chance if I fired?’ Thalia thought, her heart pounding.

Chapter 617

She knew for sure. If she tried anything, this guy would be faster, no doubt about it Hed blow her brains out before she could even blink

She lay there, stiff as a board, not daring to move a muscle

The guy in the tree stayed perfectly still, just watching her with a cold, indifferent gaze He was a bit far away, and with all that camouflage paint on his face. Thalia couldn’t see his expression clearly at all

Just then, he moved, reached up to tap his earpiece, said something quietly, and turned his gaze away from her

Without another glance, he climbed down from the tree and headed off in a different direction

Thalia was left completely dumbfounded by what she just saw

‘What the hell is going on?

‘Didn’t he spot me?

Why didn’t he just take me out? Thalia couldn’t wrap her head around it.

Thalia’s mind went totally blank for a moment, but she snapped out of it fast. She got up, shifted her position, kept herself hidden, and took a shot, hitting one of the enemies across from her

Thalia had no idea what that guy was up to, but since he hadn’t tried to kill her, she wasn’t about to waste this opportunity

Meanwhile, more people suddenly appeared behind the enemy lines. With attackers closing in from both sides, the enemy started freaking out, yelling in panic.

“Who’s coming up behind us?”

“Quick, get remforcements!”

But their panicked shouts barely lasted a second before the guys coming up from behind wiped them out.

Thalia stared in a daze at the scene before her, the jungle thick with smoke and dust.

Is someone here to back me up?’ Thalia thought, still stunned.

Darion Blackburn’s face flashed through Thalia’s mind. And as the smoke swirled all around, she finally caught sight of that familiar silhouette

His face was ghostly pale, but his stride was steady as he made his way straight toward her, gun in hand.

“What, playing hide-and-seek out here?”

But just then, a mocking voice rang out, and before she could react, someone yanked her up and jammed a gun against her head
