Chapter 633

Thalia’s red lips pressed into a thin line as she gently moved her fingers.

Darion finally let go of her hand.

[Stop picking on Dax. I told him to do it. He’s my bodyguard, so he listens to me. If you keep giving him a hard time, I’m leaving.]

The moment she finished the last stroke, Darion grabbed her hand again.

There was a hint of helplessness in his voice. “Alright, I’ll do as you say.”

Then he turned to Dax, his voice going ice-cold. “You’re her bodyguard. Your only job is to keep her safe. If anything like this happens again, her safety comes first, always.”

“Alright, alright, I get it,” Dax said, nodding like crazy. “Man, you don’t even know, I really regret it now. Why did I even listen to her? I’m just too soft-hearted. I just can’t stand seeing her upset.”

Darion’s voice was icy. “Anything else?”

Dax blinked, then said, “Nope, nothing.”

But even after that, he stayed put.

Darion’s expression grew even darker.

Weird, Dax thought to himself.

Darion’s eyes were wrapped in bandages, he was sitting there in a hospital gown, looking pale and weak. Yet somehow, he still had that intimidating aura, like he owned the place.

Dax felt the chill in the air and instinctively stood up. He glanced at the two of them, and then it hit him.

Tsk… Dax thought.

Am I in the way?’ Dax wondered.

‘Such a scheming bastard, Dax thought.

‘Now that he’s blind, he’s got the perfect excuse to keep Thalia close, Dax muttered to himself.

Dax gave Darion a dirty look, then turned to Thalia. “Alright, Thalia, I’m heading out. If you need anything, just text me and I’ll be right back.”

Thalia nodded at him.

The door opened and closed, and the room fell silent again.

Thalia pulled her hand back and started fiddling with her phone.

Darion turned toward her. “Thalia, what are you doing?”

Thalia just touched him, not writing anything on his palm.

Under the bandages, Darion’s brows furrowed. All he could see was darkness, and he was dying to know what Thalia was doing

But he knew all too well. If he kept asking, she’d definitely get irritated.

So he just held himself back, and the room went so quiet you could hear every breath they took.

Soon, the rhythmic tapping of a keyboard filled the room.

Darion listened closely, but he couldn’t figure out what she was up to.

After what felt like forever, a mechanical female voice suddenly broke the silence.

“Darion.”

“Hmm?”

Darion turned toward her, a puzzled look on his face.

The sound of typing filled the room again, and then the mechanical voice chimed in, “I’ll just talk to you like this from now on. It’s way quicker than writing on your palm.”
