Thalia glanced at Darion. His eyes were wrapped in white bandages, his face gaunt and sickly, yet his thin lips curved into a devilishly attractive smile. She immediately looked away, lowering her gaze and focused on exploring a feature on her phone

The hospital room grew quiet, with only the occasional tap on Thalia’s phone screen breaking the silence.

It wasn’t long before Ryan came back and started updating everyone on what’s going on.

Thalia set her phone aside and listened closely.

Ryan looked serious as he said, “We’ve checked the area, no suspicious people found. We also investigated the bodies in the woods near the town. They’re all mercenaries with no background at all. As for the guy who rescued Thalia, we still can’t figure out who he is.”

He paused, confusion flickering across his face. “From what we found, he was with the mercenaries, but acted differently. I can’t tell whose side he’s on.”

He added. “Stay vigilant. Make sure there’s no one suspicious nearby.”

“Yes, sir.” Ryan nodded, then continued, “The company is running smoothly as planned. Over at Rosewood Manor, Diana and the young master are both doing well. You two can relax.”

As he spoke, Ryan glanced at Thalia.
