Chapter 699 Why Won’t He Give Up?
Before Thalia could respond, Helen let out a sigh and said, “I just don’t get it. He knows you don’t love him anymore, but he keeps chasing after you, refusing to let go. Even if it kills him, he won’t give up.”
She sighed softly, her eyes drifting to the sky as darkness settled in, her voice heavy with sadness. “He never thinks about me, never about his father, and not even about Emely, who passed away.”
Thalia’s long lashes quivered, a sour ache spreading through her heart. Memories from the past flooded her mind, and all she could think was that their bond was nothing but a cursed fate.
After a while, she typed on WhatsApp, “His eyes ended up like this because of me. Once his eyes recover, I’ll leave.”
Whether he agreed to the divorce or not, she wouldn’t drag him into this trouble
anymore.
Her revenge was hers to take. She’d handle it herself.
f people lost their lives because of this, she’d be damned for it.
Helen looked at her. “You feel guilty, don’t you?”
Thalia gripped her phone tightly and nodded.
Helen let out a mocking laugh. “Sometimes, I really think Darion deserves better. He’s done so much, but all he gets from you is guilt.”
Thalia’s body tensed up. Besides this guilt, she had nothing else to give him.
She couldn’t give him anything else.
Her future was a complete mystery, and until all the threats were gone, she couldn’t let herself think about anything else.
Helen kept her eyes forward. “So, who’s been trying to hurt you lately? Why do they <eep coming after you again and again? Have you guys found anything?”
Thalia nodded and typed, “We’ve found a little.”
Helen stood up, lowering her gaze to Thalia. “I don’t care who’s after you, Thalia, but please, don’t get my son involved. He’s my only son. I can’t bear to lose him too. As a mother and a woman, I hope you understand how I feel right now.”
The breeze carried a few leaves to Thalia’s feet. She watched Helen’s figure fade into the distance, her eyes burning with sadness.
Just then, her phone rang. She saw Bonnie Curtis’s name flashing on the screen.
Thalia froze for a second, composed herself, and ended the call without picking up.
Chapter 699 Why Won’t He Give Up?
Thalia: [What’s up?]
Bonnie: [Thalia, what are you up to?]
Bonnie: [Mr. Flynn keeps asking me about you. Has he come looking for you? I didn’t
tell him much, but you haven’t been in touch lately, so I’m getting worried.]
Thalia: [I’m just out traveling to unwind, so don’t worry about me.]
Bonnie: [Okay, that’s a relief. Glad you’re alright.]
Bonnie: [Thalia, is it okay if I go see Diana? I really miss her.]
Bonnie: [If it’s not a good time, just forget I said anything.]
Thalia stared at Bonnie’s messages, her pale lips pressed together as she tried to steady herself, then started typing.
Thalia: [Of course. Please keep Diana company for me.]
Bonnie: [Okay, I will!]
Bonnie: [Oh, and Thalia, I’m back in school now! Let me show you my report card!]
