Chapter 74
Thalia was pinned down, her resistance growing weaker by the second. Darion’s drunken aura washed over her, infecting her with a hazy sense of intoxication.
Darion sensed her relaxing, and his grip loosened a bit.
Smack! In the next instant, a sharp slap rang out in the air. A clear handprint quickly appeared on Darion’s face.
He froze, his eyes brewing with a dark storm as he stared straight at her. Her hand shook after she slapped him.
But Thalia tried to keep her composure as she said, “I told you, I don’t want this.”
Darion reached up and touched his face, then pressed his tongue against his cheek. His eyes suddenly flashed with a wild, almost crazy look.
“You gonna hit me again?” he asked. Thalia stared at him, completely baffled.
Suddenly, Darion gripped her clothes and tore them apart in one swift motion. “If you’re done slapping me, I’m not stopping,” he said.
Thalia’s eyes went wide in disbelief as she stared at him. But he didn’t give her a second to react before his lips were on hers again.
This time, he wasn’t letting her fight back. The night seemed to stretch on forever.
After what felt like ages, Thalia finally caught her breath. She lay face down on the bed, while Darion kissed her shoulder, contentment written from the corners of his eyes to the arch of his brows.
With her eyes still closed, her voice hoarse, she said, “I need to take a shower.”
“I’ll run the water,” Darion replied. His tone had softened. He got up and headed to the bathroom.
Thalia bit down hard on her lip, seething with rage and frustration. Just then, her phone rang. She took a deep breath, steadying herself before picking it up.
It was an anonymous email containing a photo. In the dim light, Darion and Miya were squeezed together in a tight space. He gazed down at her, while her hand was pressed against his chest.
The lighting cast a romantic glow around them, making the scene look almost unreal.
Thalia gripped her phone so tightly her knuckles turned white. Her eyes were practically shooting fire. Her body aching and weak, she forced herself to open the bathroom door.
“Get out!” Thalia shouted. Darion was running the water when Thalia’s angry shout caught him off guard.
He turned to face her, his bold brows furrowing. “What now? Didn’t I satisfy you just now?”
Thalia, acting on pure impulse, snatched up whatever was within reach and threw it at him. “Get out! Get out!” she yelled.
Darion raised his arm to block whatever she threw, then quickly crossed the room and caught her wrist “What the hell is going on?” he snapped.
Thalia’s chest was heaving with rage. “I can’t stand the sight of you. I hate you. Get out!”
Just a little while ago, they were getting along just fine. Even though things were awkward at first, they ended up hitting their
