As soon as the study door closed, Richard looked at Darion, who sat there with his eyes covered, and said coldly, “This is what you deserve.”

Darion’s grip on his pen tightened a bit, his tone emotionless. “Did you just come here to yell at me? Take your time, I’ll listen.”

He set the pen down, looking like he was all ears.

Richard snorted. “You said you’d take care of your brother’s kid. Is this what you call taking care of him? Look at what he’s become, and it’s all your fault. How can you live with yourself after this?”

Darion curled his lips into a bitter smile. “If I wasn’t around, who would you yell at when you start missing my brother?”

“You!” Richard snapped, his face darkening.

His voice grew even colder. “Where’s Miya?”

Darion replied, “Miya’s not family anymore. She’s been locked up in a mental hospital.”

“Give me the address,” Richard demanded.

His eyes flashed with fury.

Darion asked, “What are you planning to do?”

“I’m going to kill that evil witch!” Richard growled through gritted teeth. “After what she did to my grandson, she doesn’t deserve to breathe another day.”

Darion replied, “Do you really want to spend the rest of your life in prison?”

“That’s none of your business. Just give me the address,” Richard said, losing his patience.

“If you’re planning to kill her, then I can’t just let it go. Even if you hate me, you gave me life. I can’t turn my back on you. You miss my brother, and you owe Keith, so you should spend your days making it up to him. Killing Miya won’t change anything,” Darion said calmly.

Darion continued in a calm voice, “Miya’s a cripple now, one eye gone, but her mind’s as sharp as ever. She can feel every bit of her pain. Living is worse than death for her.”
