Chapter 743 Death
Darion let out a low chuckle.
Richard’s face darkened. “What’s so funny?”
“Keith is only three and a half. You’re already planning his future?” Darion drawled. He couldn’t see Richard’s furious expression, so he could only judge by his tone.
Richard snapped, “I told you, this is what you owe Emely. You need to make it up to him, and to his son.”
“Then you’d better keep an eye on me,” Darion leaned back. “If you’re gone one day, I might just go back on my word. You won’t be able to stop me then.”
“You!” Richard slammed his hand on the table and pointed at Darion, his anger barely
contained.
But when Richard saw the white bandages wrapped around Darion’s eyes, he swallowed his harsh words and stayed silent.
He just snorted. “Of course I’ll live longer. I need to see my grandson inherit the Blackburn Group with my own eyes.”
“That’s for the best,” Darion replied.
Richard spun around and left without another word.
The door slammed shut with a loud bang.
Silence fell over the study, so quiet you could barely hear a breath.
Darion fumbled for the pen and kept practicing his handwriting on the white paper.
But unlike before, when his strokes were steady, now his hand trembled, and his handwriting was shaky and all over the place. No one saw it.
Natasha leaned in close to Thalia and whispered, “Mr. Blackburn is so scary. Is he going to skin that jerk alive?”
Thalia shot her a look, then typed on her phone. Her phone’s cold, robotic voice replied, “You’re overthinking it. That’s still his son.”
“But it feels like he’s staring at his worst enemy. What kind of dad looks at his kid that way?” Natasha pouted.
Thalia lowered her eyes, her fingers paused for a second before she typed out, “Of course there are. My parents were way worse than he ever was.”
Richard might be cold to Darion, refusing to see him, but he’d never harm him.
But Thalia’s parents really hurt her.

Chapter 743 Death
Even though there was no blood relation between them.
Before she knew the truth, they always claimed to be her family. But they were so biased toward Miya, Thalia just couldn’t wrap her head around it.
Natasha glanced at Thalia’s calm expression, then lightly tapped her lips in self- reproach. “Sorry, Thalia. I didn’t know about what you’ve been through. I shouldn’t have said that. Did I upset you?”
Thalia quickly reached out and held her hand, shaking her head.
She wasn’t upset.
She didn’t care anymore.
The drama between Trenton and Shyla couldn’t stir her heart now.
“Clatter…”
Just then, a crisp sound came from nearby.
They turned to see Diana holding her phone in one hand, while the water glass in her other hand had dropped to the floor and shattered into pieces.
Thalia and Natasha quickly got up and rushed over, while the maid came to sweep up the broken pieces.
Diana gripped Thalia’s hand tightly, her wrinkled face seemed to tremble, her face grew even paler, and her lips quivered. After a long moment, she finally said, “Thalia… your mom… Shyla… she’s gone.”
Thalia’s expression froze, her mind and heart went blank for a moment. Her breath caught, and then she nodded.
Shyla had been sick for a long time, and after everything she’d been through, it was already remarkable she made it this far.
After the call ended, Diana said in a shaky voice, “Thalia, I need to go see her.”
