Chapter 749 Taking Advantage
Sebastian raised an eyebrow. “Oh? You’re treating me to dinner?”
Thalia was left speechless.
She blinked, looking lost. ‘Wait, is that what I meant?’
Sebastian flashed a smile. “Guess I’ll be waiting for that dinner then. This time, I won’t post it on Instagram.”
Thalia was left speechless.
She sat there, looking dazed, while Sebastian looked completely at ease, sipping his
coffee.
‘Fine,’ Thalia thought.
After what he said, how could she possibly say no?
That would just make her seem heartless.
She quietly picked up her coffee and took a sip.
The snow had stopped at some point, leaving just a thin layer on the ground that vanished in no time.
The trace of sadness in Thalia’s heart faded away, just like the snow.
Her heart settled back into calm.
Just then, her phone rang.
She pulled it out and saw it was Darion calling. Her brows furrowed instantly.
Ever since she couldn’t speak anymore, he hadn’t called her once. If he needed something, he’d just text.
‘What does he want now?’ Thalia wondered.
She hung up and sent a question mark in their chat, feeling a bit annoyed.
Someone was with him, so he’d definitely find out what she messaged.
But soon enough, his call came through again.
Helplessness flickered in Thalia’s eyes as she answered his call.
Darion’s voice came through, low and gentle: “Thalia.”
There was a warmth in his deep, magnetic tone. “I miss you.”
Thalia was left speechless.
Successfully unlocked!
“I didn’t call for any other reason. I just wanted to make sure you don’t forget about me,” Darion added softly.
Chapter 749 Taking Advantage
Thalia was left speechless.
‘Is Darion really this obsessed?
‘I’ve only been gone for a few hours, and he’s already acting like this?
‘Is he really going this far?
‘Is this even normal for us now?’ Thalia questioned herself.
She had promised to stay with him until his eyes recovered, but she never thought they’d end up being so attached, practically all over each other.
They couldn’t be all sweet and clingy with each other like nothing ever happened
anymore.
Thalia just murmured a reply, then hung up.
“Was that Mr. Blackburn?” Sebastian sat across from her, adjusting his glasses as he
spoke.
Thalia nodded.
Sebastian let out a low chuckle. “I’ve always noticed Mr. Blackburn is both clingy and sharp. He used to keep putting off the divorce paperwork with you, and now that he’s got an excuse, I bet he’ll drag it out even longer.”
He watched her face closely, and when he saw her brows knit together, he asked, “So, what’s your plan now?”
Thalia typed on her phone, “I’ll take care of him until his eyes recover.”
Sebastian paused for a moment, then said, “I’m just saying, let’s suppose, what if he never recovers?”
Thalia’s lashes fluttered, and after a moment, she typed, “Then I’ll stay by his side and be his eyes for as long as he needs me.”
Sebastian let out a helpless sigh. “So, does that mean I don’t stand a chance?”
Thalia looked up at him, her expression tinged with resignation.
Sebastian changed the subject. “Have you been taking Ms. Perry’s medicine? How does it feel so far?”
Thalia typed, “Traditional medicine works slowly. I need to finish the whole course
before I know.”
Sebastian nodded. “If it actually helps, maybe Ms. Perry could check him out as well. Even though we’re competing, I want us to be on the same footing.”
