Chapter 758 A Familiar Face
Thalia listened with rapt attention. She couldn’t help but think, ‘If I hadn’t married Darion back then, maybe things wouldn’t be so messy now.’
Natasha let out a soft sigh. “Maybe my dad’s biggest regret in life was never making it official with my mom, never giving himself that title.”
Thalia squeezed her hand, offering comfort.
Natasha squeezed back. “I’m really okay now. I just miss them a lot sometimes. You listening to their stories. It’s like keeping their memory alive a bit longer.”
She grinned. “If no one talks about them anymore, if no one remembers them, then they’d really be gone for good.”
Thalia typed on her phone, her eyes fixed on Natasha with genuine care. “I’m always here to listen. Whenever you want to talk, just say the word.”
“Alright, but promise you won’t get sick of me, okay?” Natasha nodded.
Thalia shook her head, and the two girls shared a smile.
Today, Natasha just wanted to get some fresh air and take her mind off things, so they headed straight to the mall for some retail therapy.
But when they walked into a dessert shop, they spotted Bonnie working there for the holidays.
She was in her uniform, standing behind the counter, taking orders.
Natasha was still checking out the menu, but Thalia had already reached out and tapped Bonnie on the arm.
Bonnie looked up, saw Thalia, and immediately broke into a big smile. “Hey, Thalia!”
“Yeah,” Thalia nodded.
Then she typed, “You’re working here?”
Bonnie nodded. “Yeah, just working my way through school. That way, I can cover my own expenses and even hire a caregiver for my mom.”
Back when she worked at Rosewood Manor, she made enough to hire a caregiver for her mom. Now, she’s out there juggling school and part-time jobs, doing her best to level up in life.
Thalia typed, “Doesn’t it get tiring for you?”
Bonnie gave a shy smile. “I think it’s alright. Life feels fulfilling, and when I’m busy, I don’ t really think about the things that maked!
Thalia nodded, then typed, “What about your brother? Has he tried to mess with you

again?”
“Nope,” Bonnie shook her head. “He hasn’t shown up since last time. Maybe your crew scared him off. I should really thank you for that.”
Then Bonnie glanced at their coffee order and grinned. “Drinks are on me!”
Natasha shook her head. “Come on, you’re working here. You shouldn’t have to spend your own money on us.”
“No worries! Thalia’s done so much for me. I can’t do much else, but I can definitely buy you a cup of coffee,” Bonnie insisted.
Thalia nodded at Natasha, giving Bonnie the green light to treat them.
Coffee wasn’t expensive. It was well within Bonnie’s budget. If she wanted to treat, it was fine.
Natasha grinned. “Alright, thanks! Guess I’m just riding Thalia’s coattails today.”
Bonnie turned to make the milk tea and said, “Just grab a seat, I’ll be right back with your drinks.”
