I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 76

Chapter 76

“Mr. Blackburn, what brings you here?” The project manager’s face broke into a wide grin as he hurried over to Darion.

Blackburn Group had invested in this voice acting company, and Darion was the one holding the purse strings. His unexpected visit left everyone flustered, and they scrambled to make sure everything was perfect.

Darion was dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, his hair neatly styled. His striking features and long, narrow eyes carried a hint of gentle detachment, and every gesture exuded an innate nobility.

His eyes briefly swept over Thalia before he turned to the project manager. “I was in the neighborhood, so I thought I’d stop by. Heard there were auditions today-how’d it go?”

The project manager replied, “It’s all wrapped up. Ms. Coleman here has real talent. She totally owned the character, and we’re about to sign the contract.”

“Lia, congratulations,” Miya said with a smile.

Thalia’s face was cold and distant. She thought, ‘Just my luck-of all days to step out, I run into them.

“But then… Darion brought Miya here? What does that even mean? Is he trying to take this role from me again? He already took it once-now he wants another shot?’

Thalia fixed Darion with a cold, thorny glare, her eyes sharp enough to cut.

“Oh?” Darion’s tone cooled. “Really? I must’ve missed that.”

The project manager paused, then quickly recovered. “Mr. Blackburn, would you like to hear the audition recording? We have a copy in the studio if you’d like to listen.”

“I want to hear a live voice-over,” Darion said, his voice steady.

“Uh… That’s unexpected,” the project manager admitted, caught off guard.

Thalia’s brows furrowed. ‘What’s he up to? Is he here to pick a fight?’ Thalia thought, her guard instantly rising.

Just then, Miya spoke up, “Darion, I’m a voice actor too. I worked hard for this role before, and I know the character inside

out.

“Even though I got replaced, I still want to give it another shot. Since Lia’s here, why don’t we do a duet? Just treat it as a bit of entertainment.”

Thalia shot back, “Who said I want to work with you? Who the hell are you, anyway?” The air in the room instantly turned icy.

Miya stepped forward and took Thalia’s hand. “Lia, I’m not trying to cause any trouble.

“We’ve never had the chance to work together before, so I thought we could try it this once. Don’t worry, the role is already yours. I want to enjoy it for a bit.”

Thalia’s disgust was almost impossible to hide as she said coldly, “Let go.”

But instead of letting go, Miya tightened her grip. “Come on, we’re sisters. Why make things so unpleasant? The past is behind us, Lia. Can’t we get along again?”

She played the victim to the hilt, hoping Thalia would forgive and forget. That’s the reason Darion brought her here.

But even with Miya laying it on thick with her act of humility, Thalia didn’t soften at all. Her expression only got darker, and she looked at Miya like she was facing her worst enemy.
