I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 77

Chapter 77

“What do you mean? Thalia took a step forward without thinking.

Darion said coldly. “Either you two work together, or this contract isn’t happening.”

“You bastard!” Thalia shouted.

‘Seriously, this guy is infuriating, Thalia thought, her eyes burning with anger.

Miya sighed, sounding hurt, “Forget it. If you don’t want to, that’s fine. I can’t just show up and take your job away; otherwise, you’ll blame me again.”

She turned to Darion and said, “Darion, maybe we should leave.”

But Darion shot back, “What’s it got to do with you?”

His sharp gaze stayed locked on Thalia, silent, as if he was testing how long she’d hold out with her stubbornness.

Thalia was itching to slap him again. She fumed inwardly, ‘Honestly, beating him to a pulp wouldn’t even be enough. Even calling him a bastard is too good for him.’

The people nearby gave each other awkward, puzzled looks.

‘Uh… what’s happening right now?’

“Wait, do they know each other?’

‘So… are we supposed to say something?’

Wesley furrowed his brows and said, “Mr. Blackburn, I’ve listened to Miya’s audio track. It’s way below standard. Maybe we should let it go.”

But Darion replied coolly, “What if I refuse?”

Wesley was left speechless. ‘You’re the big boss here-whatever you say goes,’ he thought.

He turned to Thalia, looking a bit helpless. “How about you two team up for one scene? It won’t take much time. Once it’s done, we’ll sign the contract. If you have any other requests, let us know.”

The project manager chimed in, “Yeah, it’s one segment. It won’t take up much time.”

Everyone’s eyes were on Thalia. If she refused now, she’d come off as difficult and unreasonable. Once again, Thalia found herself isolated, with nobody backing her up.

She locked her gaze on Darion, her heart shattering piece by piece, only to quietly stitch itself back together. But every part that healed was free of his shadow.

She suddenly thought, ‘You know what? Maybe that’s not so bad.

Every time he hurt her, her feelings for him diminished a little more. When she finally stopped loving him, she’d be able to move on for good.

“Fine, Thalia replied, her voice steady. She smirked, giving Miya a sarcastic look. Then she turned and headed for the recording booth.

Miya’s fingers clenched for a moment. She was caught off guard when Thalia agreed. It was a little unexpected, but honestly, it wasn’t a big deal

Darion’s relaxed look vanished bit by bit. He saw it all. When Thalia first looked at him, her eyes burned with anger and disbelief.

But now, she was calm as still water. Her gaze had already moved on from him.

His face grew darker, and the air around him turned icy for no apparent reason. The people nearby shivered, not knowing why, and instinctively edged a few steps away.

Thalia didn’t go for her original role; instead, she picked a different antagonist.

The show they were dubbing was a palace intrigue drama, featuring an ensemble of women, each with her own distinct flair.
