Chapter 788 He Just Misses Her
“Does he give you more than I do?” Darion’s voice was icy, and the temperature in the car seemed to drop several degrees.
Natasha was speechless.
‘Ugh,’ Natasha sighed inwardly.
‘Why do I always lose my composure?’ she scolded herself.
‘He paid for this, after all. I really need to be more careful next time, she reminded
herself.
Darion spoke again, his tone cold. “You’re her friend. She came back without telling you, didn’t even invite you to dinner. Aren’t you mad about that?”
Natasha blinked, glancing at him. “Are you trying to start drama between us?”
Darjon replied, “I’m just stating the facts.”
“Oh, please. Don’t think I can’t see right through you. Thalia and I are friends, so I’m not going to sweat the small stuff.
“She’s just being polite, having dinner with someone else. Once she’s finished, she’ll come back, and we’ll get to spend even more time together,” Natasha said, seeing through his little scheme.
Natasha wasn’t fooled for a second. She smirked, “Come on, just admit it. You’re totally jealous. You wish she’d drop everything and run straight to you the moment she got back.”
“Yes,” Darion admitted quietly.
He glanced down, a little embarrassed. “I came to pick her up. I just wanted to surprise
her.”
Natasha turned back to face the front, shaking her head with a sigh. “Well, that depends on whether she actually wants your surprise or not. Come on, I’m starving. Let’s go grab something to eat.”
Dax, who was driving, asked, “Where to?”
Natasha rubbed her chin. “Let’s just go to the same place as Thalia.”
Dax grinned. “Alright.”
Natasha gave herself a mental thumbs-up. ‘Man, I’m such a softie. But hey, for the money’s sake, I’ll throw him a bone and help him out,’ she thought.
When they arrived at the restaurant, Sebastian Flynn went straight to the waiter and

asked for a private room. The group headed inside, and right after them, Natasha Riley and Darion Blackburn followed in.
Dax helped Darion inside, while Natasha turned to the waiter and asked, “Do you have any private rooms left?”
The waiter shook his head apologetically. “Sorry, the last private room was just booked.”
‘Just now?’ Natasha thought, her eyes lighting up.
She said, “I know those people who just went in. I’ll go talk to them. Maybe we can sit together.”
The waiter gave her a skeptical look. “Really? Well, go ahead and talk to them.”
‘If they’re all together, why didn’t they just go in together?’ the waiter wondered.
Natasha hurried upstairs and, without hesitation, pushed open the door to the private
room.
Thalia and her friends had just settled in when they heard the door swing open and looked up. Seeing Natasha, a smile spread across Thalia’s face.
“Natasha,” Thalia called out.
Natasha rushed over and pulled Thalia into a tight hug. “Thalia, I missed you so much! Did you miss me at all?”
“Yeah,” Thalia nodded. “I did.”
Natasha let out a playful huff. “Oh, really? You missed me? Then why didn’t you even tell me you were back? If I hadn’t gone to the station to pick you up, I wouldn’t have known you were back.”
Thalia looked at her in surprise. ‘She went to pick me up?
‘I really didn’t see her!’ Thalia thought, a little flustered.
Natasha grinned, teasing, “And it’s not just me. Someone else has been thinking about you day and night, totally restless without you.”
Just then, Dax helped Darion into the room.
“Hey, Thalia!” Dax called out with a wide grin.
Dax waved at her, his smile bright and friendly.
Thalia gave Dax a small nod, then turned to Darion. His eyes were still wrapped in white bandages, and he needed someone to steady him as he walked. He tilted his head, listening carefully, as if trying to pinpoint her location by sound.
She walked right up to him and grabbed his hand.
Darion gripped her hand in return the very next second.
