Chapter 789 Amidst The Smoke And Chaos
“Thalia,” Darion called out, his voice low and a little rough.
Not caring about the crowd, he grabbed her hand and gently placed it on his cheek.
Dax let out a small, awkward cough.
Natasha shot him a look of disdain.
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, thinking Darion was really scheming, playing the pity card again.
Bonnie, meanwhile, watched Darion with worry in her eyes, her gaze kept flickering to his injured eyes.
‘Will Mr. Blackburn’s eyes ever heal?
‘Is he still hurting?’ she thought.
After just a few seconds, she quickly averted her gaze. ‘I shouldn’t be getting involved,’ she reminded herself.
Thalia’s fingers curled slightly, and she said, pausing between each word, “Eat… Food…”
“Mm,” Darion replied.
Darion’s lips curled into a smile. Her touch made him genuinely happy.
He pressed himself close, sitting right next to her, like a guy who’d been gone forever and finally made it home, just bursting with joy.
The waiter, recognizing them, handed them the menus and asked, “What would you all like to eat?”
Thalia glanced at Bonnie and Sebastian. “Order… Food…”
Sebastian ordered two dishes, Bonnie chose one, and Natasha and Dax each picked one as well.
Thalia then turned to Darion.
Noticing her look, he said, “I’ll have whatever you’re having.”
Thalia chose a dish as well, and the waiter soon left the room.
Sebastian pushed up his glasses and said, “Mr. Blackburn, it’s not easy for you to get around. You really shouldn’t be wandering around so casually. If anything happened, Thalia would just end up feeling even more guilty, wouldn’t she?”
Darion’s tone grew cold. “Mr. Flynn, are you really that free? Got nothing better to do than mind my business?”
Successfully unlocked!
“I just don’t want you to trouble Thane needs her own space and time,” Sebastian retorted, not backing down.

Darion chuckled softly. “But we’re husband and wife. It’s normal for us to lean on each other, look out for each other, and love each other, isn’t it?”
He squeezed Thalia’s hand, his voice dropping lower. “Isn’t that what marriage is about? You spoil me a little, I spoil you a little. That’s how we get through life together.”
Natasha just stared, speechless.
She mimed throwing up, making a silent gagging gesture.
‘I seriously can’t deal with this!
‘I’m really working way too hard for this paycheck,’ she complained inwardly.
Sebastian pressed on, “But that only works if you’re actually in love. If one person falls out of love, no matter what the other does, it’s just pointless. It’ll only end up being a burden. Mr. Blackburn, you’re a smart guy, so I’m sure you get what I mean, right?”
His words were loaded with provocation. He was basically saying Thalia didn’t love Darion anymore.
But Darion didn’t get mad. Instead, he gave a relaxed smile and said, “Mr. Flynn, you really do care about my marriage with Thalia. Relax, we’re only going to get better.”
Sebastian was left speechless.
‘Man, he’s got no shame!’ Sebastian thought.
Thalia remained expressionless, but she could practically taste the smoke of conflict
