I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 80

Chapter 80

Thalia glanced around the office. Satisfied that Miya was nowhere in sight, she let out a long breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding.

Just seeing Miya was enough to make her blood boil. Hearing her voice made her want to slap the woman senseless.

But she had to keep her temper in check for now.

Miya had been deliberately baiting her earlier, angling for a reaction. One swing from Thalia and Miya could slip back into her favorite role: the helpless victim.

It was a performance she’d mastered since childhood.

Thalia told herself she refused to let Miya rattle her anymore.

She needed this job too badly to lose it over someone who wasn’t worth it.

She pulled out her phone and typed out a message to Helen.

Thalia: [Helen, Darion got Miya into the dubbing company too. He’s really going all out for her now.]

Helen: [Leave it with me.]

A faint smile tugged at the corner of Thalia’s mouth. Helen’s contempt for Miya ran deep. There was no chance she’d stand by and let her get any closer to Darion.

And since Darion had made the first move, Helen would make sure she was the one to undo it.

It was only a matter of time before Miya was pushed out.

With someone else now handling the problem, Thalia’s mood lightened. She slipped her earphones back on and returned to the video.

Helen’s face darkened. She made a call to the head of the dubbing company without a moment’s hesitation.

Bradley Cooper picked up immediately, his voice coated in deference. “Mrs. Blackburn. What can I do for you?”

She didn’t bother with a preamble. “Did your company just hire someone named Miya?”

Bradley, as the owner, wasn’t in the habit of keeping tabs on entry-level hires. “I’m not sure off the top of my head, but I’ll have someone check right away.”

“Find a reason to let her go,” Helen said.

Bradley blinked. “If you don’t mind my asking, has she done something? Is there a problem?”

Helen’s tone didn’t shift. “Just do as I say. Blackburn Group holds a significant stake in your company. I don’t think I’m asking for too much.”

Bradley laughed nervously, scrambling to smooth things over. “Of course not. I’ll handle it personally.”

The moment the line went dead, he had his assistant look into it. What came back gave him pause. It turned out Miya had been placed there directly by Darion.

Bradley leaned back in his chair, exhaling slowly. He thought. ‘You’ve got to be kidding me Mother says fire her, son says hire her Who exactly am I supposed to answer to?

After a long beat. he picked up the phone and called Darion’s executive assistant, relaying the situation in full

When word reached Darion, his expression didn’t flicker. His response was measured, almost bored “Tell Bradley to give her a polite runaround. Miya stays.”

‘Understood,” the assistant replied.

With that, Bradley’s dilemma resolved itself. He did exactly as instructed, offered Helen a vague assurance, closed the matter, and moved on.

Helen didn’t press further. It never occurred to her that a man in Bradley’s position would dare to deceive her

Night had fallen by the time Thalia gathered her things and left the office.

She hadn’t expected rain. She made her way toward the garage, but as she stepped into the dim space, two familiar voices reached her ears.
