I Divorced You Now You Beg (Thalia and Darion) novel Chapter 91

Chapter 91

“I just don’t feel like it Is that a problem? Thalia held his gaze, her eyes glinting with defiance.

She pulled her hand free and turned to walk away.

But Darion’s voice followed her. Then your friend can stay home tomorrow.”

She stopped mid-step and spun around, staring at him in disbelief. “Is that a threat?

“If it works,” he said flatly, then it’s a good one.”

Thalia clenched her jaw, resisting the urge to slap him.

After a few steadying breaths, she managed to keep her voice flat. “Fine. You asked for it.”

She turned to Crystal. ‘Go home. First day at work tomorrow.”

Crystal gave a slow nod, her eyes lingering on the two of them as they walked off together

Noticing how deeply Darion looked at Thalia, his gaze filled with possessiveness, she thought, ‘Does Mr. Blackburn really have feelings for his sister-in-law?”

Shaking off the thought, Crystal turned and left the cafe.

Miya lived with Keith in a sprawling five-hundred-square-foot penthouse. Darion punched in the code and walked in.

Thalia watched from the doorway, her voice sharp with scorn. “So he knows the code too. And you still expect me to believe nothing’s going on between you?”

Darion gave her a long, unreadable look but said nothing. He wasn’t about to explain himself.

“Darry!” Keith had already appeared in the hallway.

The second he saw Darion, he ran over and wrapped his arms around his leg, his delicate features lighting up with pure joy.

But the moment his eyes landed on Thalia, his smile vanished. His wide gaze flickered with unease.

Thalia stared back, her face cold.

Children sense tension the way animals sense a storm. Keith shrank under her stare and buried himself against Darion’s leg.

Darion glanced back at her. “He’s three. Don’t intimidate him.”

“I don’t like him,” she said flatly. “You’re the one who dragged me here.”

She wasn’t about to force a smile for a kid who lied.

Keith was only three. If he were thirteen, she’d have slapped him across the face without a second thought.

Darion lifted Keith into his arms. “Keith, say hello to Thalia.”

Keith tucked himself closer to Darion’s chest, his voice barely above a whisper. Thalia.”

Thalia turned away without acknowledging him, walked over to the sofa, and sat down.

Darion scanned the room “Your mom still not back?”

“No” Keith shook his head, his small arms still wrapped around Darion’s neck.

The nanny spoke up from where she stood nearby. “Mrs. Miya Blackburn said she was just running out to get something. That was two hours ago. She didn’t take her phone, and I don’t know where she went.”

A chill flickered across Darion’s eyes. “Go look for her.”

“Yes, sir.” The nanny nodded.

He settled onto the sofa with Keith in his arms and reached for the stack of blocks nearby, coaxing the boy into playing together.

Keith kept glancing toward Thalia at first, but it wasn’t long before the toys captured his full attention.

Soon, the two of them were completely absorbed in their game, the little one even fetching blocks for Darion when he needed them.

Every now and then, Darion would glance down at Keith with quiet warmth or reach over to ruffle his hair, a scene of easy. unaffected tenderness.

But to Thalia, it was excruciating.

Her mind drifted back to his vasectomy. If he hadn’t gone through with it, they could have had children of their own.

Instead, she was stuck watching him pour his heart into someone else’s child.

And Miya-Miya got to witness this every day. She probably even joined in sometimes, playing the doting mother, the happy family.
