Chapter 96
Seeing him unravel like that, she was genuinely terrified he might actually go all the way with her right there in the car
She forced herself to stay calm. “Darion, don’t. I have work tomorrow.”
But he didn’t respond. He just kept kissing her, as if she hadn’t spoken at all.
His hand slid beneath her clothes, tracing the familiar curve of her body with a touch that knew her too well.
She trembled despite herself.
Thalia bit down hard on her lip, refusing to let a single sound escape.
Suddenly, she felt a sharp ache in her stomach.
A small spark of hope flickered in her chest, and she spoke quickly. “Darion, I’ve got my period.”
Darion froze mid-motion, his body stilling at her words.
He sat up slightly, brow furrowed as he thought for a moment, then nodded, realizing the timing was right.
He looked at her closely, his gaze catching the relief in her eyes.
Without warning, he gripped her chin, pulling her in for another kiss. His lips barely registered any sensation before he pulled away.
The car door finally opened, and Thalia let out a relieved breath, but before she could step out, Darion scooped her up effortlessly.
Her body tensed. “What are you doing?”
With long strides, he carried her toward the villa, his tone distant. “You think I’m some kind of animal?”
Thalia almost blurted out, “Aren’t you?”
But she held back. His mood had been all over the place lately, and she knew better than to push him further.
As they entered the familiar living room, a pang of sadness hit her hard. The place felt too much like home, and too little at the same time.
She remembered waiting for him in that same spot every time he left.
But he always went to someone else, loving someone else’s child, and it made her feel utterly foolish.
That was why she didn’t want to be here. The resistance she felt was overwhelming.
Darion carried her into the master bedroom and gently placed her on the bed before heading to the closet.
A little while later, he came back and said, “We’re out of tampons. I’ll go buy some. Stay here, and don’t go anywhere.”
Thalia didn’t respond. She just looked at him, her expression unreadable, as he turned and left.
The pain in her stomach grew sharper, and she had no strength to move.

Chapter 96
She decided to take a hot shower, hoping it would make her feel better Afterward, she lay back on the bed, feeling slightly
more at ease
It wasn’t long before Darion returned with the tampons she usually used. He placed the bag down and walked out again
Thalia adjusted herself and was about to leave when she noticed him in the kitchen, busy with something.
She stopped, a tight, sour feeling in her chest.
Since they’d been together, whenever her period came, the pain was unbearable.
She’d feel weak and exhausted, and every time, Darion had gone to great lengths to find a doctor who’d given him a prescription for a special remedy. He’d been making it for her ever since.
She wasn’t sure if it was just her mind playing tricks on her, but after drinking it, she did feel a little better.
