Darion looked away and said. “You can either wait in the living room or go lie down upstairs.”
Thalia, feeling too weak to argue, made her way upstairs without saying a word.
It was always the same with her period. Once it started, the cramps hit hard, followed by that constant aching in her back. The pain only intensified the longer she lay there.
Curled up in bed, she placed a hand on her stomach, but it didn’t seem to help at all.
The pain grew unbearable, and soon she was covered in cold sweat, her mind floating in and out of focus.
She wasn’t sure how much time had passed when she suddenly felt someone lifting her, and a spoon was gently pressed to her lips. Darion’s voice, low and soothing, reached her ear. “Thalia, drink this. It’ll make you feel better.”
Without thinking, she opened her mouth and drank, the ritual so familiar at this point.
The warmth from the drink spread through her body, providing some relief.
She opened her eyes and saw Darion placing the bowl down, then climbing into bed with her. He pulled the blanket aside and made room next to her.
She immediately tensed, pushing herself away. “Don’t come any closer. Leave me alone.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” Darion replied, his grip firm as he pulled her closer. One arm wrapped around her while the other slipped under her clothes, resting on her stomach.
His hand was warm, and the moment it touched her, the pain started to fade.
Her body stiffened, and she bit her lip, trying to pull away. “I don’t need you. Go away.”
“I need you,” he whispered, pressing against her. “If I don’t hold you, I can’t relax. I can’t sleep. I’ll go crazy.”
Thalia couldn’t help but roll her eyes inwardly. ‘Where did he get these ridiculous ideas from?’
With him holding her so tightly, she couldn’t move, so she gave in and closed her eyes, letting the moment pass.
The warmth surrounding her slowly pushed the chill from her body, easing the pain and pulling her back into a deep. comfortable sleep.
When she finally woke up again, the room was dim, and she realized it was already evening.
The pain in her lower abdomen was still there, but it had definitely eased.
Darion was still lying beside her, his hand resting gently on her stomach.
She glanced at him, her expression a mix of confusion and something harder to define.
Suddenly, his phone rang, and he stirred slightly, blinking awake.
“Hello?” His voice was rough and strained as he answered.
“Man, you won’t believe what I just found!” Jason’s excited voice came through the phone.

Chapter 97
Danon sighed, clearly annoyed “Spare me the dramatics.”
Jason continued eagerly, “So, I’ve been chasing this girl, right? And there’s an auction tomorrow night I was thinking about taking her, so I got the auction catalog to see if there’s anything she might like. And guess what? Your and Thalia’s wedding ring is on the list!”
Darion’s eyes shot open, his attention fully caught. “What did you just say?”
“I mean the ring you paid a hundred million for. It’s on the lisi. Are you really that strapped for cash, Darion? Selling your wedding ring now?”
Darion’s gaze shifted to Thalia, her eyes closed as if she was sleeping, though he knew better.
