“What?”
Zara blinked, stunned by his sudden outburst.

Still groggy from just waking up, it took her a few moments to piece together what was happening. When she finally met Kenny’s bloodshot eyes, understanding dawned–and her patience immediately wore thin.
This arrogant, rainbow–haired narcissist actually thought he was some prize everyone was fighting over.
If he weren’t Oriana’s brother–in–law, she wouldn’t have wasted a second hauling his drunk self back to the hotel.
And as for him being naked–well, that was on him. He’d downed that spiked drink, then in his drunken stupor decided to strip himself bare. She’d tried to stop him, but how could she wrestle sense into a man who thought the floor was his bed?
But wait—what was that he’d just said?
He looked down on Oriana? Didn’t even acknowledge her as his sister–in–law?
Zara’s irritation turned into a spark of energy. She sat up abruptly, swept her hair back, and cracked her knuckles, her temper fully awake now.
“What are you doing?” Kenny demanded warily, edging back. “Planning to get violent now that I’ve exposed your schemes?”
Zara gave an exaggerated eye roll.
“Please. You think I’d ruin my manicure punching you? You’re a grown man making a scene like a toddler. I haven’t even complained about my loss after spending the night with you!”
Kenny choked. “Y–You… what do you mean, loss? I am-”
“What are you?” Zara cut in, arching an eyebrow.
He stammered, lips parting, but no words came out.
Zara sighed in disbelief.
What was wrong with this guy?

Then she noticed the way he was clutching the sheets, trying desperately to cover himself–his expression a mix of mortified and indignant. His handsome, rough–edged face was flushed red to the ears.
That’s when it clicked. Her eyes gleamed with mischief as she rubbed her temples, pretending to think hard, then let out a soft, teasing laugh.
“Don’t tell me,” she said, lips curling into a grin. “You’re a virgin, aren’t you?”
Sure enough, that one word hit the nerve. “Who the hell are you calling a virgin?!” Kenny exploded, his voice practically echoing off the walls. “I’ve been through hundreds of battles! Go ask anyone in Jindiwood–everyone knows I play hard! It was just one night of sleep, so what? I couldn’t care less!”
His reaction was so over the top that Zara didn’t need confirmation—she already knew the truth. The man from last night had been right. Kenny was still a virgin.
“Oh?” Zara’s grin widened, her tone dripping with amusement as her eyes swept him from head to toe. “If you don’t care, then why are you so worked up?”
“I just hate being tricked and used!” he shot back, his voice trembling with anger. “You don’t understand anything!”
Zara tilted her head, unfazed. “Then you’ve got the wrong person. The one who set you up was Clara–from Velvet Midnight.”
She lifted a slender hand and lazily traced her fingers through the air, stopping just above his bare shoulder. “If it weren’t for your pretty face and that nice body of yours, I would’ve left you passed out on the street. Think Clara would’ve come running to save you if she caught a whiff of that mess?”
Kenny’s face went from red to green in an instant. The thought of what Clara might have done made his stomach twist.
His jaw tightened. “My friend owed Clara a favor. He went abroad, so I was supposed to look. after her. I let my guard down because of that–and I didn’t expect…”
He clenched his fists, his expression darkening. “I won’t let her get away with this.”
“Good,” Zara said lightly. “Then we agree on that. You go deal with her, and I’ll just take the gratitude part–cash, preferably. You promised me a few million last night, Mr. Caldwell. Don’t forget.”
Her smile was pure mischief–unapologetic, almost predatory.

But Zara didn’t give him the chance. She picked up her phone, glanced at the time, and tapped to start a video call–right in front of him.
As soon as the familiar ringtone started, Kenny’s face drained of color. In a panic, he dove under the covers, hiding his entire head like a guilty child.
Watching Kenny burrow under the blanket like a terrified child, Zara burst out laughing–so hard she worried she might actually wrinkle her face.
