Chapter 264 Number One Priority
Zara listened, utterly stunned. “Wow, there’s actually a way to pamper wife like that? I’ve never even seen that in any CEO romance novel!”
Oriana had been just as surprised back then. Now, remembering it, she couldn’t help the soft smile that curved her lips.
“Maybe you just haven’t read enough CEO novels. Read a few more and you might come across it,” she teased gently.
Zara snorted twice, about to keep poking fun, when a loud, affectedly sweet voice cut through the air.
“Kaibby! Over here–it’s this store! The jewelry Luna liked last time was from here. It’s s popular; you can’t even get it online anymore!”
Zara frowned, smacking her lips. “That voice… sounds just like Willow Barnes?” Oriana turned around and immediately recognized the woman. She gave a small nod. “It’s her.”
Zara slowly turned her head too, and when her eyes landed on the man standing beside Willow–disguised to the nines–her jaw practically hit the floor. “Wait–am I hallucinating? Isn’t that Kai? Why on earth are they together? That’s so weird!”
Oriana was equally taken aback.
But more than anything, her mind snagged on something Willow had just said as she came in.
Could it be…

After the last class reunion, Luna hadn’t told Kai or the others right away about her riding accident, and Kai had been wracked with guilt ever since.
To him, Luna was a simple, straightforward girl–someone who didn’t know how to play games or demand attention, the kind who never realized that sometimes the loudest voice gets heard. She just swallowed every hardship quietly, on her own.
And then there was Leo and the others–those idiots had clearly lost their minds, treating Luna so coldly.
Kai was deeply unsettled. If no one else cared about Luna, then he’d just take care of her himself.

He and his friends had worked so hard–climbing their way up from a poor village to the big city, building everything they had from scratch–all so they could have the power to protect the people who mattered to them.
And right now, Luna was his number one priority.
Not wanting to be caught off guard again by anything that might happen to her, Kai searched for Willow in a fan group and added her as a friend.
Willow was over the moon. When she saw the friend request with the note “I’m Kai“, she thought she must be seeing things–or maybe someone was playing a prank. Heart pounding, she ran straight to Luna to confirm.
Luna glanced at the profile picture and ID, then smiled.
“It really is Kai. Looks like he has a good impression of you–that’s probably why he added you.”
Willow’s grin nearly split her face. She accepted the request immediately, her mind already racing through all the ways she could start a conversation with him.
But to her surprise, several days later, Kai messaged her directly–and got straight to the point.
“I heard you joined Grant’s Smart Medical Project in Jindiwood?”
Willow almost screamed out loud.
What could possibly be more thrilling than being personally noticed by her idol?
“Mhm. The project’s already started. I’m in Jindiwood now,” she replied excitedly.
“Oh? Since you’re there, you can spend plenty of time with Luna, right?”
“Yes! I actually went shopping with her just after I arrived,” Willow typed back.
“I see.”
After that, Kai and Willow began chatting more often, though most of their conversations inevitably circled back to Luna.
Kai had told her once that he saw Luna like a younger sister–someone he wanted to spoil and protect. And Willow, who admired Kai and cared about Luna too, naturally began to treat Luna with the same affection.
Moreover, Luna and Grant shared a close and loving relationship, so Willow never entertained.

On the contrary, she actually felt lucky to be Luna’s classmate–and because of that, she went out of her way to be extra kind and complimentary toward her.
