Her heart leapt. She guided his hand over her body and whispered, “Grant, it’s been so long. I missed you so much.”
His touch grew rough, full of frustration and anger.
Then, Grant suddenly rolled over, pressing her beneath him.
Luna trembled, the mix of pain and pleasure running through her, but she didn’t resist.
That was when a sudden sting made her gasp.
She shivered, begging softly.
But Grant didn’t stop. His breathing grew ragged with anger.
Then, his murmur became furious roars. “Oriana, babe. You’ll regret leaving me. You’ll regret it!”
Luna froze. The name hit her like a thunderclap.
Humiliation burned through her. She began to push at him, but her struggle only made him angrier.
“You’re trying to push me away? Oriana, you’ll pay for your stupidity.”
Her face twisted with pain and rage. Tears spilled as she kept punching Grant’s chest, shouting, “Grant, look at me. I’m not Oriana!”
But Grant didn’t listen. His eyes were shut, lost in his own delusion. His handsome face turned cruel.
He pinned her wrists above her head, giving her no mercy.
Luna was trapped, pale and shaking, her face streaked with tears. Her hollow eyes glistened with red beneath the dim light.
The next morning, Grant woke with a pounding headache and an aching body.
When he sat up, he froze at the sight of the mess in the room and Luna lying beside him, covered in. bruises.
Memories of last night rushed back into his mind.
“Damn it,” he muttered, feeling utterly frustrated.
“Luna, I was drunk. I’m sorry. I…”
Luna had cried herself hoarse through the night. Her eyes were red and swollen.
When their gazes met, she flinched and turned her face away.

“Grant, I don’t blame you. I shouldn’t have stayed.”
Her weak voice and timid look made his guilt worse.

She shook her head and whispered, her eyes filled with tears and emotions. “How could I hurt you, Grant? I love you.”
Grant’s expression softened. He pulled her into his arms. “I’m sorry. I swear I’ll never do anything like that again. I’ll take you to the hospital, make sure you’re okay. And your condition—”
“I don’t ask for anything,” she said. “As long as you’re all right, I’m happy. You don’t need to stay with me. I can go to the hospital alone.”
“No,” he said quickly. “I can’t let you go by yourself. I’ll cancel my meetings and spend the holiday with you. Nothing is more important than you.”
“Grant, I don’t deserve that.”
“Don’t say that. You’re the only one who truly cares about me. Let me make this right. Let me stay with you.”
Luna leaned against him, whispering softly, “It feels good to have you here.”
Her words were tender, but her eyes, hidden from his view, were cold and empty.

A few days before the festival, Oriana woke early. She and Micah spent the morning decorating the apartment, putting up all kinds of decorations on the wall.
It was Micah’s first time doing something so domestic. Under Oriana’s direction, he carried supplies and helped line up the corners.
