“Luna! When did you meet Mr. Stone, and why have I never heard about him before?” Grant asked.

Luna spoke softly and patiently. “Grant, Mr. Stone and I met by chance. Before I returned home, I went through a lot of difficulties. It was a coincidence that he took me under his protection, and I’ll always be grateful for that.”

She paused and lowered her voice. “You know how my father is–he only cares about profit. If he ever found out that I knew Mr. Stone personally, he would definitely ask me to introduce them. On the second floor, inside the study, Soren was watching the surveillance feed that showed the couple embracing in the living room.

His sharp brows drew together.

“This is… completely inappropriate,” he muttered.

Embracing right in the living room?

Did they think this was their own house?

No wonder Xander hasn’t agreed to meet them right away.

Soren was clearly irritated. To him, their behavior was a blatant lack of respect for Xander.

Xander opened his mouth to speak but stopped when the faint sound of voices drifted up from below.

Soren leaned toward the small window, peering out through the hedge into the neighboring courtyard. He spotted a young couple walking toward the gate.

“Sir, Mr. Caldwell and his wife are here,” he said.

Xander’s eyes opened fully. “Micah and Oriana?”

“Yes, it’s them.” Soren kept watch and frowned. “He is carrying several gift boxes. Looks like they’ve come to visit you.”

He turned back to the monitor, catching sight of Grant and Luna still wrapped in each other’s arms in the living room. His expression turned even more disapproving.

Perfect timing. They were about to collide.
