Micah was still holding onto the silk ribbons, insisting he wanted to keep them as a memento.
Oriana felt a little embarrassed. “Next time, I’ll give you something more practical.”
Micah looked perfectly content. “Honey, whatever you give me, I’ll love it.”
She brushed a quick kiss against the corner of his lips. “You and your smooth talk.”

On the rooftop, down below, the crowd had mostly dispersed. The neighboring buildings continued looping Grant and Luna’s grand proposal video, but hardly anyone cared anymore.
Even some of the business partners Grant had personally invited to witness his perfect proposal were whispering among themselves, curiosity piqued as they asked about the couple who had stolen everyone’s attention downstairs.
After all, they were all from the same social circle–and someone recognized the man leading the group below as Jett, the research center’s director.
“Could it be someone from the research center? I didn’t recognize him.”
“I couldn’t see clearly from this distance, but Jett seemed familiar with them. Whoever that man was, he’s got to be impressive.”
“I’m curious. I’ll ask Jett about it next time I see him.”
“That drone light show was so creative–subtle, yet incredibly romantic.”
“Yeah, and people seemed to love it. Definitely the highlight of the night.”
The spotlight that was meant to belong to Luna had been completely stolen by Oriana.
Her expression darkened, though she was forced to keep smiling–to play the part of a blissfully happy fiancée,
But beneath the table, her fists clenched so tightly that her nails dug into her palms.
That wretched woman!
Oriana has to have known about Grant’s proposal plans tonight–she must’ve staged this whole stunt just to upstage me!

Oriana was probably thrilled right now!
Grant’s face wasn’t any better.

He hadn’t expected Oriana to be so utterly indifferent to his grand, public proposal–and even more, to see her create something so breathtakingly romantic for another man.
She actually cared that much about that manipulative bastard?
Grant’s eyes turned cold and sharp.
You asked for it, Oriana. When you finally see Micah’s true nature–all those schemes he’s hiding–I’ll be waiting to see how much you regret it.
“Unbelievable,” Bramwell grumbled, his tone dripping with disdain. “What’s wrong with those people? Just a few flying gadgets, and everyone loses their minds over Luna and Grant’s proposal? Cheap tricks. A woman putting on a show for a man–disgraceful.”
Bramwell’s face lengthened, his voice sharp with anger and complaint.
Owen mumbled under his breath, “Guess only people with actual taste find livestream fireworks boring.”
A flicker of cold light flashed in Luna’s eyes. She shot Owen a warning glance before turning back to her father with a helpless little smile. “Daddy, Oriana’s probably doing all that to please her husband. She needs to rely on that powerful man to survive, after all.”
Bramwell’s face twisted with disgust. “Hmph! Low–born people stay low–born forever. She used to trail after Grant like a servant, and even after marriage, she hasn’t changed one bit. Good thing she’s not my daughter–what a disgrace.”
“Exactly,” Evelyn chimed in sweetly. “Luna and Grant’s love is genuine. They don’t need to flatter each other to keep their relationship alive.”
She squeezed Luna’s hand and smiled warmly at Grant. “Grant, take good care of her, will you? Don’t ever let her down.”
Grant’s mind was elsewhere, his expression shadowed with barely restrained fury.
Luna quickly looped her arm through his and leaned sweetly against his shoulder, putting on her best smile. “Don’t worry, Mom. Other than you and Dad, Grant’s the best person in the world to me.”
Snapping out of his daze, Grant nodded automatically. “Of course, Mrs. Sterling. You have my word–I’ll take good care of Luna.”
