Bramwell wouldn’t drop the subject–and even Grant turned his gaze toward Luna. She had no choice but to force a smile. “You’re right. I should let Mr. Stone know the good news.”
Luna smiled faintly, took out her phone, and typed out a short message to Xander, informing him of her engagement.

At Jindiwood Garden, Xander was sitting on the couch, reading international news with his reading glasses on.
Soren was puttering around the living room, watering the plants that Xander kept by the window.
Moments later, Soren’s phone buzzed several times—it was a message from his sister, Mia, with a link attached.
Soren opened it and found a live video of Luna and Grant’s proposal–the kind of high- profile, over–the–top display that reeked of pretentious romance and millions spent on fireworks.
He watched for about two seconds before closing it.
Just then, Xander’s phone chimed.
Soren turned around, frowning. “Don’t tell me Mr. Stone just got her proposal video, too?”
“What proposal?”
Xander asked absently as he unlocked his phone, only to see a message from Luna–a polite greeting followed by the announcement of her engagement to Grant.
Soren set down the watering can and came running over, craning his neck to peek at the screen. His eyes widened instantly. “Hey! Knew it! She actually sent you the video?”
Xander didn’t open it. One glance at the thumbnail–a crowd of people and loud colors—was enough. He quietly closed it and set his phone aside.
“She probably just wanted to share her joy with everyone.”
“Really? I doubt that,” Soren muttered under his breath. “It’s late–and she still has the nerve to message you? Unbelievable.”

He could understand the young people wanting to make a grand romantic gesture, but did they really have to broadcast it everywhere? The entire Jindiwood already knew about it–no, scratch that, it was trending nationwide.
And now she was sending personal messages with the link? Embarrassing.
Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of hurried footsteps.
The door swung open, and Noah came bursting in, waving his phone.
Soren groaned. “Don’t tell me you have the proposal video too?”
“Proposal? Of course not! My grandson already got his marriage license! Look!”
Noah plopped down beside Xander and opened his phone excitedly.
“Check this out–look how romantic Oriana is! Micah couldn’t stop smiling!”
It was a video Jett had recorded–Oriana controlling drones, ribbons trailing through the air as they guided Micah to a starlit spot. The clip ended with the two embracing, Micah’s face glowing with happiness.
Noah was over the moon, practically cheering. “Micah’s such a lucky guy, huh? He found himself a wife who really knows how to make him happy!”
Soren and Xander both watched the video quietly, nodding in agreement. “Gotta admit,” Soren said, “that was pretty creative.”
Noah grinned from ear to ear. “Right? Look at his face! He’s loving every second of it.”
Even Xander, usually composed, smiled a little. “Micah’s found his happiness. I suppose you can finally relax now.”
“Relax? Oh, I’m beyond relaxed,” Noah said, laughing.
“If I could live to see a few great–grandkids running around, I’d die a happy man!”
Xander
gave him a side–eye. “You’re insatiable.”
“So what? I only have two grandsons! Kenny’s still a kid. Of course, I want Micah to have children soon,” Noah huffed.
“You two wouldn’t understand–no sons, no grandsons.”
Both Xander and Soren rolled their eyes.

We can tolerate his bragging, but does he really have to twist the knife every time?

Noah, completely lost in his joy, replayed the video and waved for them to watch again.
The video is so stunning. I love it. I could watch this a hundred times!
Back at the banquet hall, Luna kept glancing at her phone. She’d been waiting half an hour, but Xander still hadn’t replied. The hopeful smiles around her table began to fade.
Luna forced a laugh. “Maybe Mr. Stone’s too busy to see it right now.”
Evelyn frowned. “Busy? On a weekend night? That seems unlikely.”
Luna’s smile stiffened, almost breaking.
Owen jumped in to defuse the tension. “Maybe he was occupied with something and forgot to reply. I’m sure he still cares about Luna–he probably read it right away.”
Evelyn seemed convinced. “That makes sense.”
Luna quickly nodded. “Dad, Mom, it’s been such a long day. You must be tired. Why don’t you head home and rest? There’s no rush to talk to Mr. Stone–I’ll speak to him tomorrow.”
But Bramwell wasn’t so easily fooled. He narrowed his eyes, studying Luna’s evasive tone.
His voice came out slow and probing. “Luna, you’re not planning to meet Mr. Stone behind our backs again, are you?”
