When Noah heard the whole story, his body shook with fury. “I raised the Caldwell descendants to keep their dignity, and yet some filthy, despicable person took advantage of him!”
Although she wasn’t especially close to Kenny, Oriana still felt a pang of sorrow for the boy.
Micah’s face remained expressionless as he asked, “Where is the person who drugged him?”
Kieran answered sternly, “Clara and the bartender who supplied the drug have been taken outside.”
Before he finished speaking, Noah strode for the door.
Oriana and Micah hurried to follow.
Outside, Clara sat on the ground in a red miniskirt; her makeup had been streaked by tears so badly her face was barely recognizable. She hugged her arms and sobbed quietly.
Nearby, the bartender pressed his hands together and begged. “I was forced. Clara made me do it. Please–please spare me.”
Noah walked up to them with a grim expression and planted a boot right into the bartender’s chest. “A grown man has the nerve to say that!”
Even in his old age, Noah’s authority remained intact. He had been a formidable figure in his youth–stern and commanding.
His kick sent the bartender sprawling; the man fainted on the spot from fear.
Clara crumpled in terror. Her face went pale and frantic; she bowed her head and pleaded, “Mr. Caldwell, I was wrong. I didn’t know Kenny could endure so much. He drank last time too, but this time–this time it went too far. I only- I like Kenny so much. I never meant to hurt
him.”
“No? There was a last time?” Noah’s eyes flashed. He trembled violently and stared at the woman on the ground, pressing his lips together and saying nothing.
Noah was conservative and despised women who acted with their hands.
But right now, he wanted to kill her.
Clara had the nerve to target Kenny again and again.

Clara brightened at the words and began to speak, but before she could finish, the imposing man behind Noah spoke without emotion. Kieran, take her out.

Kieran nodded and signaled. Bodyguards rushed forward, clamped hands over Clara’s wails, and dragged both her and the bartender away.
Noah took a deep breath, turned back, and softened his voice when he addressed Oriana. “You were frightened, weren’t you? Don’t be. I’m only harsh with bad people.”
Oriana shook her head. “Mr. Caldwell, you were right. The wicked must be punished”
Noah let out a long sigh. No matter how much punishment that woman receives, it won’t

They returned to the outer waiting area of the ward. Before long, Albert brought news that Cordell and Niamh had boarded a special flight home and would land in Jindiwood in five hours.
Noah sat alone on the couch. In just one morning, he seemed to have aged years.
Oriana and Micah could tell how much pain he carried and didn’t disturb him.
Around noon, Kenny finally woke up.
After the doctor finished the examination and confirmed there were no other injuries, the three of them went in to see him.
According to the hospital, Kenny had tried to suppress the drug’s effects by repeatedly banging his head against the wall; his forehead had been smeared with blood. When he arrived, the nurses had cut his once–spiky light–blue hair into a crew cut to make it easier to clean.
Now his head was bare, and he sat at the bedside with his chin down, lost in thought. Noah saw him and instinctively clutched his chest, overcome with grief.
“Kenny, I’m so sorry,” Noah said tenderly as he came to the bedside and stroked the roundness of his shaved head. “Don’t worry. I will not let those who hurt you go unpunished. Micah has already dealt with them. We will make them pay.”
