However, the Radcliffe family’s situation was so dire that, let alone raising a child, just getting past this hurdle was going to be a struggle.
Zara let out a low sigh. “Baby, you picked the worst time to come. Why did you have to show up when Grandpa is in the deepest trouble?”
Now she didn’t dare tell her family anything. She couldn’t even fart without worrying about the fallout.
As she walked, Zara left the little garden and went deeper into the grounds.
Near the central fountain, she heard a familiar voice, oily with malice.
“The last time I let her go. This time, she actually drugged me. Should I have mercy? Are you kidding me?”
“No one can beg for mercy now. My grandfather and cousin already took revenge. You expect me to forgive her? Do I look stupid? She went crazy and drugged me. She deserves whatever happens!”
Zara’s ears perked up.
Well, well–I actually run into him.
No way was she going to be the only one suffering over this.
He was the real culprit.
Zara rolled up her sleeves and strode out, nearly giving Kenny, who had just hung up his phone, a shock.
“Holy-! You scared me to death. Which idiot— You—you already left. How did you come back?” Kenny blurted out, the rawness of his words betraying him the moment he saw Zara’s bright face.
Zara frowned and fixed him with a suspicious stare. “How did you know I left?”
Kenny nearly bit his tongue.
He quickly thought of an excuse and glared at her with disgust. “What else? I was afraid you’d take the money and then extort me, so I had someone keep an eye on you.”
Zara’s expression shifted to understanding. She nodded. “Oh. You stalked me. You have a crush on me?”
“Shut the hell up!” Kenny exploded.
Only then did Zara take a proper look at him.
He was wearing hospital clothes. His hair was buzzed short. Deep dark circles had hollowed out his eyes.
Zara panicked. She lurched forward and grabbed his arm, urgently asking, “You didn’t get some incurable disease, did you? Is it hereditary?”
Kenny tried to jerk his wrist away.

Through the thin hospital gown, he grasped her thin forearm. Their faces were so close their noses nearly touched. Seeing her bold, beautiful face up close, Kenny was momentarily mesmerized. He stared and forgot what to do next.
Zara didn’t care that he was zoning out. When he didn’t speak, she thought something was wrong and gripped the hem of his gown, pulling it down.
Before she could say anything, her stomach churned violently.
There was no time to react. She vomited, right onto Kenny, under his adoring stare.
Kenny’s face went green. He uttered a long, furious curse. “Shit!”
Zara was forced to go back to his ward with him.
Kenny, annoyed at the mess, took off his shirt and demanded she stand in front of him to block the sight.
Zara used his sleeve to wipe her mouth, looking annoyed. “You’re a big man. Why are you so shy? Movie protagonists strip naked all the time.”
Despite the haircut, Kenny was still temperamental.
In the ward, Zara leaned over the sink to rinse her mouth while watching the man turn his back and change in the mirror.
“Hey, what exactly is wrong with you? Is it really untreatable?” she asked.
Kenny didn’t turn. He ground his teeth. “Yes. I’m terminal. Happy now?”
Zara’s expression flickered. “If this were before, I’d be clapping my hands for joy.”
But now-
She had just discovered she carried his child. If something happened to him, wouldn’t her baby suffer too?
At first, she had even thought his genes weren’t bad.
Drying her face, Zara decided to get straight to the point.

She walked up to him, put her hands out, and bluntly said, “Pay up.”
“What?” Kenny was taken aback for a moment. Then he grew irate. “You came here just to ask me for money?”
Zara blinked and admitted it coolly. “Yeah. What else would I come for?”
