“I’ll run the simulation,” Leo quickly said, taking the work from her. When Oriana looked over, he softened his tone. “You generated most of the core data. I can handle the run–through.”

Oriana didn’t argue. She nodded and started gathering her things.

She glanced at the time on her phone. Micah was still waiting for her downstairs, planning to take her back with him.

Not wanting to keep him waiting too long, Oriana picked up her pace.

Leo stood up and suddenly spoke. “If you don’t want to go to the volunteer service next week, you can use my rest slot. I went for the past two years. I can skip it this time.”

Oriana paused, then smiled and politely declined. “No need. Since it’s your slot, you should use it to rest. My husband’s waiting for me, so I’ll head out. If anything comes up with the data, we’ll talk later.”

Leo managed a strained smile. “All right.”

Oriana gave him a small nod before turning to leave.

If Leo hadn’t reminded her, she truly would have forgotten about the volunteer event.

The slots had been assigned before the New Year, but things had been so hectic back then that Oriana hadn’t had the chance to tell Micah yet.

With only a few days left before the departure, she needed to bring it up.

The voice came from the far left corner. Kieran stepped out from behind a pillar and waved her over.

Micah gave a resigned smile, the corners of his eyes full of warmth, and reached over to take the laptop and documents from her arms. “Mrs. Caldwell, aren’t you pretty famous yourself?”

Oriana choked on that one.

She shut her mouth instantly, regretting teasing him in the first place.
