Her voice was soft, coaxing.

Micah’s resolve wavered. “You’ll be pretty busy once you’re back, won’t you?”

Seeing the tension in his expression ease, Oriana followed up gently. “No matter how busy I am, I’ll still make time for you first. I’ll miss you too.”

Those tender, quiet words shattered the last bit of resistance inside him.

His cold, rigid expression finally melted.

“Promise me. When you come back, we’ll go on a trip.”

“Okay, I promise. If you’re worried, I can talk to Mr. Harris now and give him a heads–up about the leave?”

Micah’s lips curved. “If you ask, he’ll make things difficult for you. I’ll handle it.”

Oriana blinked.

Once she confirmed that Micah had truly calmed down, she let out a discreet sigh of relief. Only after the whole ordeal did Oriana finally have a moment to check her phone.

In the group chat, Zara and Lily had already exchanged more than three hundred messages. Oriana popped in and was stunned. “What on earth did you two talk about? That’s a lot.”

Oriana chuckled and was about to tell Zara to calm down a little when Micah suddenly spoke. “Unless something unexpected happens, they’ll probably register their marriage in the next few days.”

Surprised, Oriana turned to him. “You saw the news too?”

Micah crossed one leg over the other, looking entirely at ease. “The Center departments are following it as well. A buyer from Dudbein approached us, hoping to purchase robots. We turned him down. So naturally, he’ll shift his interest to Grant.”

Oriana frowned slightly. “What does buying robots have to do with getting a marriage license?”
