“Once in a while is fine,” Micah said. “We’ll eat and wash up as soon as we get home.”

As he spoke, he was already guiding her into the restaurant and calling for the owner to take their order.

Oriana’s brows shifted slightly. In the end, she picked two light cold dishes, ordered a mildly spicy grilled fish, and added a few skewers.

She scanned the small place, then pulled Micah toward the cleanest–looking corner she could find.

It was “clean,” but the tiny stools had clearly been used for years. Most shops were like this. Oriana didn’t mind; she was only worried Micah would.

She grabbed a few napkins to wipe his seat, but before she could, he bent down and sat. Then Micah took the napkins right from her hand, wiped the stool beside him, and gently tugged the slightly stunned Oriana down to sit.

Oriana felt awkward. “You’re the one with a touch of OCD, not me.”

“It’s nothing,” Micah replied. “I’ll change clothes when we get home. Women’s anatomy is different. You need to be more careful with hygiene outside.”

Oriana’s lips curved as her gaze slid down unintentionally.

Micah had gone to the hospital earlier to discuss the smart–medicine project, so he was dressed in a suit–peak lapels, simple lining, neat and understated, yet still highlighting his distinct elegance.

He looked completely out of place here, his tall frame slightly hunched to sit with her in this shabby little diner. Ignoring his mild cleanliness issues, he focused only on taking care of her. A rush of pink bubbles filled Oriana’s heart; she felt deeply moved.

Micah always had a way of warming her without even trying.

He didn’t rely on sweet talk or grand gestures. His love showed in the tiny details of everyday life–effortless, steady, and sincere.

With the noise of the crowded shop buzzing around them, Oriana felt an impulse. She leaned over and gave Micah a quick kiss on the cheek.

In full public view, without anything shielding them, she had never been this bold before.

Micah was clearly stunned. When he snapped back to himself, his large hands clamped around hers, holding on tight.

Oriana laughed. “I’m not going anywhere. Why are you holding so hard?”

Micah didn’t answer. The grilled fish arrived at that moment, bubbling with fragrance. “Enjoy your meal.”

“Okay.”

Oriana inhaled deeply, grabbed her fork, and dug in enthusiastically, even removing fish bones for Micah.

It was a rare, satisfying meal for her. After leaving the restaurant, she even bought a burger from the stall next door.

“Don’t eat too much at night,” Micah reminded her.

But Oriana was obsessed with the burger. “It’s fine. I can finish it.”

Micah opened his mouth like he wanted to say something, but decided against it.

Hugging her burger, Oriana strolled back home in complete bliss.

When she threw her trash away, she waved the empty bag at Micah, proud and triumphant.

“Told you I could finish it. I could even eat another one.”

“You could eat more?”

“I could!”

“Good.”

Oriana blinked, unsure what he meant by that.

But ten minutes later, after they got home-

“Micah, I’m not showering with you tonight. I’m still so full!”

“Weren’t you able to eat more?”

“I was joking!”

“Really? Let me check if that’s true.”

Two days later, Zara and Kenny flew from Scabar back to Jindiwood, bringing both sides of their families with them.

The next day, Oriana had to leave for her volunteer work. She happened to have half a day off to rest and pack, so she went with Micah back to Caldwell Estate to welcome Zara and the others.

After a brief nap, Oriana and Micah headed out with the couple toward the city hall.

Their timing was perfect: they reached City Hall at exactly three, right as planned.

Originally, Noah and both sets of parents wanted to tag along, but Zara firmly refused. She worried the scene would get over–the–top and painfully awkward.

To respect her feelings, the elders had no choice but to step back and let the young people handle it. As long as the two got married smoothly, that was enough.
