Trying to talk sense into him? Pointless. Completely and utterly pointless.

Oriana walked over and picked up Kai’s thermos for him.

The wellness brew had all spilled out. Oriana frowned. “Should I get you a refill?”

Kai looked flustered and surprised, instinctively opening both hands to decline. Letting go of the walker, he almost toppled forward, which startled him into gripping it tightly again. The whole scene was rather comical in its awkwardness.

Watching this, Oriana couldn’t help but curve her lips into a smile.

Kai was overjoyed, his heart blooming. “You… you smiled? You should smile more. It looks so good on you. Ah, do you like seeing me make a fool of myself? I should have yelled when I fell last night–falling into a mud pit would have been even funnier!”

Oriana was speechless.

What kind of decent person would use their own embarrassing moments to amuse others?
