Chapter 522 Morning Chaos
He couldn’t believe it. With agonizing slowness, he turned his head to the side.
On the pillow beside him, mere inches away, lay Zara’s face–sleep–muse of it diminished the striking, vivid beauty of her features.

utterly disheveled, yet none
She smacked her lips in her sleep, accidentally catching a strand of her own hair in her mouth.
Then, sensing the discomfort, she stuck out her tongue and spat the hair out.
Her face turned toward him, and a tiny spray of saliva landed on his cheek.
But Kenny just stared, dumbfounded, not a hint of anger stirring–he hadn’t even snapped back to reality
yet.
The woman from his dream, who had walked away expressionless and cold, perfectly overlapped with the vibrant, lively face before him now.
Suddenly, a reckless impulse seized Kenny. He rolled over, cupped Zara’s face in his hands, found her unconsciously smacking her lips, and kissed her fiercely–a desperate, biting kiss, as if releasing all his pent–up emotions.
“Mmph!”
Zara jolted awake. Her eyes flew open to see Kenny attacking her lips like a madman.
Her lips felt numb and swollen, but more than anything, she was furious at being woken up so violently from a sound sleep!
Zara had a notorious temper upon waking. She bit down hard on Kenny’s lip-
“Ouch!”
Kenny sprang back, clutching his bleeding lip, glaring at her furiously. “Zara! Are you part dog?!”
Zara sat up, fuming. “You’re the dog! What’s wrong with you, going crazy first thing in the morning?!”
Then, remembering something, she hastily raised her hands to wipe her mouth.
Seeing her do that, Kenny nearly lost it, his eyes blazing red. “What do you mean? You think I’m dirty?”
“Of course you’re dirty!” Zara snapped. “You’ve been sleeping all night, full of germs. What’s the rush? Couldn’t you have brushed your teeth first?”
Kenny, who had been on the verge of unleashing his anger, froze mid–outburst. He stared blankly.
“…So you’re saying, if I brush my teeth, I can kiss you?”
“Not necessarily.”

Zara frowned, thinking for a moment before adding another condition. “And you can’t just ambush me when I’m sleeping! Damn it, how am I supposed to sleep after you pull a stunt like that?”
“Then don’t sleep.”
With that, Kenny rolled out of bed in one swift motion.
Watching him storm out, Zara was utterly bewildered.
She scratched her head, grabbed her phone to check the
time, and got eve
angrier.
The AC had broken after two in the morning. It wasn’t even eight yet–how long had she even slept?!
“That lunatic! So annoying!”
Zara cursed him vehemently. But with him gone, she could rightfully claim the whole bed. She pulled the covers back up and settled in, sprawling into his vacated spot.
It had to be said–lying in the spot still warm from his body heat felt pretty cozy.
Zara gave a contented little shiver and prepared to go back to sleep.
Just as her eyes closed, the door opened again, and Kenny climbed back onto the bed.
“You again- Mmmph!”
The moment Zara opened her eyes, Kenny planted another kiss on her lips.
Her mouth was instantly filled with the fresh, cool scent of mint, jolting away any remaining drowsiness.
Kenny raised an eyebrow. “Brushed my teeth. Clean now. Kissable.”
With that, he moved to lean in again.
Zara dodged left and right. “Wait! You brushed yours, but I didn’t!”
She was lippery. After several failed attempts, Kenny’s patience wore thin. He cupped her face firmly in both hands, holding her still, and rubbed his nose against hers.
“It’s fine. I don’t mind.”
Kenny’s gaze burned into her as he murmured, “You had your own room and didn’t use it. You came to mine. Isn’t that just asking to be kissed?”
“What nonsense! Who came here specifically for a kiss? If my AC hadn’t broken, I wouldn’t even-!”
Zara’s indignant protest never had a chance to finish.
Kenny held her face and kissed her thoroughly, meticulously–tilting left to catch a breath, then right to adjust the angle.

Zara, who had initially scoffed at Kenny’s lack of finesse, found herself growing increasingly warm and lightheaded from the kisses.
Wait, since when did he become such a fast learner?

At ten in the morning, when Oriana and Micah emerged from their room, Kenny had just returned from buying breakfast outside.
“Oriana and Micah, I got the local specialty.”
Oriana was surprised. “You’re up so early?”
Just as she finished speaking, Zara walked out of the neighboring room, her lips noticeably redder than usual.
