“Great. Happy now? You’re completely blind. Why come to me now? What the hell do you want from me?!”
After venting his fury, Nelson turned–only to find Micah still expressionless. The anger lodged in his chest, unable to rise or fall.
Clutching his chest, Nelson looked awful.
He was practically driven mad with rage by Micah!
“I’ll ask you one last time,” he said sharply, “Do you still want treatment or not? Give me a straight answer!”
Kieran looked at Micah, nervous than ever. “Mr. Caldwell!”
Under their intense stares, Micah slightly parted his lips.
Before he could say anything, his phone buzzed.
Micah pulled out the phone and said to Nelson, “Wait.”
Nelson had been waiting for the reply, and he finally snapped, “You’re taking a call at a time like this?!”
Micah just ignored him and answered anyway.
The moment it connected, he addressed the person on the other end, “Mr. Lynch.”
This number had a special ringtone. For years, Micah had never hesitated to answer it.
“Mr. Caldwell, this is bad!” Michael was panting, “Grant found out about us. His men snatched me and took our chat logs!”
“He found our secrets… I’m sorry,” Michael said, trembling.
Micah’s calm face tightened sharply.
“When did it happen?”
“I’ve been trapped for what feels like two days. I lost track of time back then.”
Micah frowned slightly. “Did you manage to escape, or did they let you go?”
Michael stumbled to catch his breath, still shaken, “They… they left me stranded on the roadside… warned me, and then vanished. Mr. Caldwell, should I call the cops?”
“No need. Go home. I dragged you into this.”
“Please don’t say that. Without you, I wouldn’t be where I am today…”
Micah ended the call and fixed Kieran with a sharp look, “That Cayenne tailing us–did you get a trace on

it?”
Kieran froze. He hadn’t expected his boss to bring it up now.
“N–not yet. It’s an unregistered car…”
“Check Grant. See if he’s related,” Micah commanded sternly, “Do it now.”
“Yes, sir.”
Not daring to delay, Kieran started investigation right on.
Nelson stared in disbelief as they ignored him completely.
“Are you serious? At a time like this, you’re worried about-”

“Found it!” Kieran exclaimed, “Just as you predicted, sir–the rental links to Edgar from Grant’s studio. They’re cousins. It’s almost certainly him!”
Micah’s expression sharpened instantly.
Kieran’s heart tightened, “Sir? What happened?”
“Any reports from the men guarding her today?”
“No. The bodyguards reported nothing unusual. Seems everything’s okay.”
Micah’s expression stayed sharp and unreadable.
If Grant’s people had taken Michael, why release him so suddenly?
It could not be that they are afraid of police involvement.
No. If he dared do it, he must have weighed the consequences.
So…
Micah’s brow sank, “Kieran, call them. I’ll ask myself.”
