“Miss, my dad and I really have something important to discuss with Grant. Could you make an exception for us?”
Owen hadn’t been here before, so the receptionist had no strong opinion about him.
Besides, Owen looked clean–cut, and now he was smiling warmly while handing her a gift. The receptionist glanced at it and couldn’t help but smile a little.
“Sir, you’re very thoughtful.”
She took the gift with a cheerful smile, then pointed toward the office. “I can’t let you see Mr. Holloway without an appointment. But you can go in and look for one of our vice presidents–maybe they can help you get in.”
Owen nodded gratefully. “Thanks.”

To get things done, Owen and Bramwell kept a good attitude and a friendly smile.
If Bramwell had still been as unreasonable and stubborn as before, Grant wouldn’t have given them the time of day.
But now that they were begging in front of him, Grant swallowed his harsh words.
Grant glanced at them coolly, then swaggered back to his desk and plopped down.
Despite Grant’s blatant disrespect, Bramwell and Owen didn’t complain–they just smiled sheepishly and looked around.
Seeing them so pathetic, waiting for him to casually throw them a bone, gave Grant a secret thrill.
Back then, Bramwell had looked down on Grant.
He’d insulted Grant as fatherless and motherless, mocked him as a cripple.
Now, Grant had become a high–ranking, untouchable figure in the Sterling family. No matter how much Bramwell resented it, he had to bite his tongue and play along.
Grant’s expression softened slightly. “Speak. What do you want to talk about this time?”
“Well, the thing is, we-”
Before Bramwell could speak, Grant interrupted sharply.
“About the investment, everything will proceed according to the contract.”
“Yes, that money isn’t urgent. I know that, Grant. You’re in a phase where you need to spend. I’m not going to push you.”

He eyed Bramwell with amusement. “Bramwell, you really are a seasoned player, bending and stretching as needed. Last month, you were all teeth and claws with those harsh words. Now you’re shamelessly humiliating yourself.
“Let me think… What did I say then? ‘May you rot in hell‘? Tsk!”
Bramwell kept a straight face, maintaining a friendly smile. “Hey, times change. I was angry back then. Sorry, I spoke too harshly!”
As he spoke, Bramwell, poured himself a cup of coffee in the nearby lounge and respectfully placed his hand on Grant’s desk, lowering his posture.
“Now that I’ve calmed down and thought it through, we’re family after all. What’s money between us? Am I right?”

Grant curled a lip in silent derision.
Bramwell stepped forward a few paces, wearing a sycophantic grin. “We came today to ask a favor. This past half–year’s been full of ups and downs for our family, but the one good thing is that we’re all still together.
