Mysterious mate to the lycan prince (Addison and Max) novel Chapter 58

Chapter 58

Addison

Ruby snickered, rubbing the dirt off her naked body as she looked at me from head to toe.

“Just look at you, after everything I did to you, not once did you try to fight back. You just can’t let it out even if you tried.”

Even though I wanted to deny it, it was too late, so I held my he high.

“Who told you?”

She scoffed. “That’s so bold of you to directly ask me that. I thought you would at least deny it, but I guess you’re a smart bitch afterall. I would have just demanded that you prove to me hat you can shift. I only used to call you a wolfless omega because I believed you had no wolf, but you’ve always had one and it was just sealed away after hurting someone.”

I narrowed my eyes.

“You must be so surprised that I know this much, right? I only provoked you to see how far I could push you and you did nothing new apart from what I saw the first day I met your brothers. That’s really as far as you can go. I now know the whole truth about you.”

I clenched my fists with a deep exhale, if only she knew the other half of it.

Just as she began to rub it in my face that she had eyes and ears everywhere and that was how she found out, her smirk faded at the sight of my rapid healing. She had seen me heal before, but the damage done to me was worse at that moment. Her jaw dropped, shaking her head in disbelief as she looked at the fading scars on my face and chest.

“There’s no way you heal this quickly just because you’re an Alpha’s daughter. I’ve been trying to figure out why for weeks now but still can’t. That still doesn’t stop me from having fun with what I know.”

She pushed her hair back with a sneer, then crouched down.

“Believe me when I say that your life is about to change and not in a good way.”

Part of me wanted to beg her not to say anything about it because I didn’t know how she would twist what she knew, but that was Ruby and she was going to stop at nothing to get back at me for everything that never went her way.

She shifted, facing the other side and running off into the woods while slamming into everything that was in her way.

Now alone, I faced the sky and took a deep breath. It wasn’t Ruby knowing about my sealed wolf that bothered me, it was how she found out. Who told her about me?

I was far from finding answers about that, but I still had another matter to take care of. I was supposed to meet Sally right where I was waiting for her, not Ruby. It was then that I decided to look for her and find out if she knew about what was going to happen to me.

There wasn’t even the slightest trace of her scent around me and she didn’t even pick up my calls or reply to my text messages. How was I going to find her?

Just as I made my way out of the woods while looking down at my bloody clothes, Lyra appeared in front of me and 1 groaned in frustration.

“You look like shit,” she said with a blank expression.

“Where were you? You and I are linked and you know when I’m in trouble. Why didn’t you come to my aid when I needed you?”

“I focused all my energy on what’s to come between you and Mak. That’s why I sensed no danger. I thought you were meeting Sally.”

I crouched down and sighed. “That’s what I thought too, but it turned out to be Ruby. I need to speak to Sally but can’t reach her and don’t know where to start.”

She smirked. “What would you do without me?”

“Huh?”

“Get up.”

She got closer, holding onto my arms as she helped me get up.

Once I was on my feet, she spun me around and when I was facing her again, I was in different clothes, making my jaw drop.

“Now, let’s go and see Sally,” she said.

Sally was in the backyard alone and reading a book.

Lyra and I watched in silence for a few seconds before taking physical form and it was all thanks to her.

No matter how I thought about it, there was no better way of handling the situation apart from a direct approach.

Sally was facing the other side, still looking down at the book she was reading but when Lyra made me take on my physical form, she instantly dropped her book and jerked her head back with a gasp.

She attempted to run away from me but I jumped right in front of her, grabbing her by the shoulder and she grunted as she tried to break free.

“If you did nothing wrong, you wouldn’t have a reason to run away from me,” I said to her, my tone cold.

She frantically shook her head with wide eyes. “It was all Ruby’s plan for me to make you come to the woods! She knows some secrets about me and my family and threatened to ruin us if I didn’t do as instructed. I’m sorry.”

I instantly loosened my grip on her shoulder and she sighed with relief.

“Thank you.” She touched her shoulder without making eye contact.

My heart was racing with rage and I snarled. “Don’t thank me just yet. I might just change my mind and make you experience even the slightest torture that Ruby had put me through while in her wolf form.”

She pressed her lips together, her heart racing even faster.

Lyra then called out to me in my mind and I closed my eyes for second to listen to her.

“How are you going to hurt Sally when you didn’t have the same energy for Ruby?”

I clenched my jaw, realizing that she was right.

Sally was in the middle of apologizing to me again when I leaped over the fence of her yard and began to hurriedly make my way along the road.

Lyra walked beside me, shaking her head as she looked at me from head to toe.

“Your mind is racing with so many thoughts,” she pointed out.

“I know you’re worried about her telling other people, but trust me, she won’t say a word about it. Each time she tries to say it or even type it, she’ll freeze.”

I stopped in my tracks, smiling at her. “I’d love to see that.”

She proudly nodded. “You can put it to the test right now if you want. I already cast that spell on her.”

Her words put me at ease and I just wanted to hug her.

“Don’t you dare hug me,” she warned me, taking a few steps back

I huffed. “I just hate how you know everything before I can say or do it.”

“The same way that I know that you told Max about your decision.” She smiled a little, then turned serious. “There’s just one thing I need to mention.”

“What is it?”

“The only way that you and Max will bond is if you’re at peace during that moment. No matter what happens, don’t let anything get in the way or else it won’t work. Is that clear?”
