Chapter 60
Max
I even snarled at Jess, making her flinch as she glanced at me. I wasn’t going to warn her again.

Tyler begged me not to lose my temper, but I wasn’t just going stand there and watch Addison get treated like that.
She wasn’t going to say anything back to Jess when she just want to make peace. It was my duty to be there for her.
Even though Jess softened up a little as she bowed to Tyler and she flashed him a small smile but immediately turned serious as soon as she faced Addison again.
“Just look at that,” she said. “You even have the lycan princes on your side. They seem fond of you when you don’t even deserve it. Now, who is Ruby?”
Addison sighed, holding her head high. “Just forget about it. Look, I know our history is awful.”
Jess rolled her eyes. “That’s quite the understatement considering how you ruined my life. How dare you stand here and j-”
“I can change all that because I’m the only one who can heal you
Jess paused, raising her eyebrows a little in surprise.
“Did I hear that right?” Her voice was softer.
“Yes, one of the end goals of all my abilities is to heal and I’ll do that for you once I master all the elements. For now, I’m only good with air but I’m working as hard as I can.”
Jess clenched her jaw with a grunt. “Work harder so you don’t keep me waiting for too long. Just so you know, you’ve given me so much hope. If you do all this and it doesn’t work, I’ll never forgive you.”
As soon as Addison heard that, the look in her eyes changed, like she began to doubt herself. I didn’t even have to get closer. I could already feel it.
Judging by the look on Jess’s face, she was about to say something unpleasant, but I wasn’t going to stand for it, so I dashed beside Addison, wrapping my arm right around her with glowing eyes.
“That’s all she had to say.” I stared down at Jess. “This is the part where you leave before you get yourself into trouble with
me.”
Jess took a few steps back and looked to the side, not wanting to make eye contact with me as it would have been a sign of disrespect.
Before she could turn around and leave, Tyler rushed to her side holding her hand.
“I won’t let anything happen to you,” he assured her.
She relaxed her tense shoulders, my brother’s presence making er feel at ease.
He only gave me a look of disapproval before taking her away from there in the blink of an eye. It was only then that I put my glowing eyes away.
“Are you okay?” I said as I looked down at Addison, who gave no reply as she was deep in thought.
I waved my hand in front of her face to get a reaction out of her and it was only then that she paid attention.
“Thanks.”

Even though she smiled, something was missing.
On our way to meet Lyra, not once did I let go of Addison’s hand She barely said a word and I let it be that way for as long as I could.
When I thought of cheering her up. I said, “I don’t understand why we have to walk all the way to the meeting spot. I thought you said you could always just appear in the exact location you want as long as Lyra’s with you.”
She forced a chuckle. “This must be her way of showing you that being a lycan prince doesn’t get you special treatment the first time.”
“Tell me as much as you can about her, just so I know what else expect.”.
She nodded and began to tell me, that being my way of distracting her.
She had so much to say that she didn’t even get to the end of it and we were already at the meeting spot.
I couldn’t sense anyone else apart from the two of us and I was just about to ask her where Lyra was, but it was then that she walked right out of a tree trunk, making me raise my eyebrows.
“Judging by the look on your face, you’ve never seen a witch do that before,” Lyra said to me, her attitude and tone straight forward.
I nodded, already seeing a few characteristics from the long list that Addison mentioned.
Despite her boldness, she instantly bowed to me to pay her respects. Addison was right about her. She still knew her place even when she was so powerful.
“Rise,” I said to her.
I expected her to stand upright, but she only raised her head a little and looked right at Addison. The cold expression in her eyes turned softer. She knew what exactly was going on with her
She didn’t even address it for me to hear, but it was clear that she had said something to Addison with their link.
Finally straightening up, she drew a large circle, instructing the two of us to stand in the middle.
“A time will come when Saga will be out of control and that’ll be extremely dangerous. The only one she’ll respond to is Max. That’s why you two are here to bond. Addison, it’s time to remove that bracelet because you need to make contact with him after he shifts, no matter how unbearable it’ll be. After this, ou won’t need any type of bracelet or anything to keep you at ease when around him.”
Lyra’s instructions on what needed to be done next were clear, making me step back as I first needed to shift. The circle was large enough to accommodate my size and I looked down at Addison, who was so small compared to me.
When she removed her bracelet, I expected to see the discomfort that came with having me close, but not once did I see it. She even got closer and placed her hand on my fur as instructed Everything was so calm but it wasn’t supposed to be like that. I knew right away that something was wrong as I couldn’t sense Saga.
Addison didn’t even seem surprised by the outcome.
“This is exactly what I was talking about,” Lyra said to her. “I told you that you needed to be at peace in order for this to work. Now, I can’t even sense Saga. I know you’re holding back.
