Chapter 64

Chapter 64

Addison

Ruby didn’t seem to be taking me seriously and even waited for me to change my statement, so I took a few steps forward with a hand on my hip.

“I’m waiting. Do something.” My voice was firm.

Max expressed his amusement in my mind. He was also eager to see what would happen if she tried to expose what she

knew.

Finally, she took a few steps back. leaped off the ground and landed right in the DJ’s booth, instructing him to cut the music.

Everyone began to boo her as they wanted to dance and most even wondered why Tyler and Max did nothing to her. I was the only one aware of the reason, which made it even more satisfying before it even happened.

Flipping her hair flirtatiously, she said, “I know you’re all mad that I made the DJ cut the music, but what you’re about to hear is even better. That’s why you’re going to listen to me.”

The whole crowd was in disagreement with her and continued to boo, making her yell over them so they could shut up. I thought of feeding her ego a little bit, so I made my way into the crowd until I was in the front, glancing at Max and Tyler who were on the other side.

I looked up at Ruby until she finally spotted me. It was exactly what I wanted. I turned pitiful, bringing my hands together, as if begging her not to expose me. She completely fell for it and smirked in satisfaction.

Looking around at the crowd, she said. “Everyone, there’s something I want to say about someone present here this evening. Imagine having a w… Imagine having a w

She suddenly trailed off, making everyone look at each other in confusion.

“Imagine having a w…”

It was as if she was on repeat, no matter how hard she tried. She furrowed her eyebrows and tried a few more times, but it was still the same thing.

The crowd booed louder so she could stop talking and soon, the DJ played the music again.

The place erupted in cheers and dancing, leaving her standing there in shock.

Her eyes were locked on mine as she furiously approached me and it was only when she was close enough that the pitiful look in my eyes vanished.

“Well, that sucked,” I said to her, trying so hard to hold in my laughter, but my smile gave it away.

She scowled, making her eyes glow. “Do you think this is funny?

“Come on. You went up there and tried to expose someone but for some reason, you just couldn’t do it.”

“I don’t know what happened but this isn’t over. Everyone will find out that…everyone will find out that…everyone will find out that… Fuck!”

I didn’t think it was going to be just as amusing the second time, but it was and seeing me enjoy that moment only infuriated her so much that she stormed off. She couldn’t even start a fight even if she wanted to. It was a lycan prince’s birthday.

From that point forward, she shoved anyone who was in her way until she left the party. All the possible mates were present

at that party but after the way she had conducted herself, she might have just set herself up for more rejections.

I got myself a drink to enjoy the rest of the party, Max keeping close eye on me as I mingled with the others.

“When you’re ready to leave, tell me,” he said.

I looked over at him on the other side of the room. “Why?”

“It’s only right that I personally drop you off and that’s a privilege that’s only available to you.”

I blushed from across the room, trying not to make it too obvious to those who were passing by that I was talking to my mate without opening my mouth.

Deep in the woods, Max and I were holding hands, the grip slowly getting tighter as we both had the same desire, but he just wanted to get me to the Academy of Warriors.

“Did you enjoy the party?” he asked.

“Of course I did, especially when Ruby couldn’t say anything no matter how hard she tried.”

“I’m glad that was amusing. I heard about what happened between you and Jess on the balcony.”

“My only hope is that I’ll never hear those usual statements again”

“Hey, you did the right thing. Tyler won’t stop talking about how you made him float with your abilities. That was quite the gift.”

“I had it all planned out and it went perfectly.”

I suddenly stopped in my tracks with a smile, making him wonder why.

“What is it?”

“You’re walking me to the Academy of Warriors. This is the slowest way possible to get there and I’m not complaining.”

He chuckled, kissing me on my forehead, then on my lips. It was quick and gentle just so we wouldn’t lose control. We had agreed to wait until we were in the right place, just the two of us with nothing to worry about.

He continued to lead me along the path and tightly held my hand again, even kissing it a few times and I giggled.

“Hey, I’ve been wondering, do you ever get an overlap between the mindlinks? You’re now connected to more than one.”

“I can handle it,” He bragged. “I’m a lycan prince.”

“Right.” I playfully rolled my eyes.

The entire walk to the academy, we discussed the best way to break the news and all the possible outcomes. We wanted to be ready.

I was finally getting closer to the academy and it was at that point that he began to make his way back to the palace, leaving me with all the memories of that night.

Bright and early the following morning, I woke up to train but couldn’t even do that right away as I was on a long call with Max. He had missed me that much and he wasn’t the only one.

When he gave me the chance to end the call. I couldn’t do it right away and he enjoyed every moment of it.

I finally put my phone down and began to make my way to the raining arena.

There were two security guards by the gates and I expected then to let me in the way they always did, but they blocked the way just as I got closer and I was so confused.

“What’s going on here? Let me through.”

“We’ve been instructed not to let you in, Addison Hunter.”

I was under the impression that it was the same for everyone, bu I was wrong. Others walked past me and were allowed into the arena. I demanded answers from the guards, only to be told hat I would find out in the office that was in charge of the competition.

I hurriedly made my way to the office for an explanation and took my seat on the other side of the table.

“May I please know what’s going on? Why wasn’t I allowed in the training arena?” I asked the man sitting across.

“Addison Hunter, you weren’t allowed because you’ve been banned from the competition.”
