Mysterious mate to the lycan prince (Addison and Max) novel Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Addison

It took me a few seconds to process what I heard and I leaned forward, as if that would make me hear better.

“I don’t understand. Please say that again.” my voice was already bit shaky.

He nodded and said. “You’ve been banned from the competition

It was so loud and clear that I leaned back in my seat with a heavy sigh, shaking my head in disbelief.

Bringing my hands together, I said. “A lot of things don’t make sense right now, so please help me understand this. Why was I banned? And who made that decision?”

“The Lycan King.”

My eyes widened in surprise and I leaned forward again. “The Lycan King? And what was the reason he did that?”

“He said you’re no longer fit to compete with the others.”

I waited for him to speak further, but he just sat there and looked at me and I wasn’t having it.

“Please explain. You can’t just end at that. How am I not fit to compete with the others?”

My body temperature began to rise, making me wipe my forehead to stop any sweat from forming.

“The Lycan King was right. We all just don’t see you as a good fit anymore.”

“That doesn’t make any sense. I’ve done nothing but give it my best, so how could you say that? What did he specifically notice to ban me?”

“I have other work to attend to. Please see yourself out and pack up your belongings.”

He looked away from me, paying attention to the documents that were on the table.

I clenched my fists with fury, my breath getting heavier each second. I had so many questions and he wouldn’t answer any of them.

I always had plans of leaving the competition on my own terms and it wasn’t like that.

Unclenching my fists, I rose to my feet while nodding to myself. Whatever it was going to take, I was going to get to the bottom of it. What reason would the Lycan King have to ban me Was it simply because of who my father was? Had that been the case, I should have been banned at the very beginning or did he find amusement in letting me get this far only to get rid of me?

As I made my way along the usual path that would lead me back to the dormitories, the whispers from onlookers began about how I was banned by the Lycan King himself.

“Isn’t this just like what happened to Ruby?”

“Yeah, but we knew it was because of what she did to Addison at Blackbolt High. We don’t know why this ban happened.”

“Whatever the case, I wouldn’t want to be banned by the Lycan King himself.”

“And she was doing so well!”

I tried to shut it all out, but I could still hear everything and it made me walk faster so I could be alone. I was aware that I was

still going to hear everyone talk about me, but not seeing them would make it less infuriating.

I slammed the door shut once I was inside my room and slid down the wall, still trying to find any other reason that Alpha Warrick had banned me, but there was nothing I could think of

I hit the back of my head against the wall a few times with my eyes shut, but opened them when I reminded myself that I wasn’t supposed to stay there anymore. I needed to pack up my uff and leave.

It was on my mind that I needed to call my family and Max to inform them, but I was still so confused.

“Need help with packing?” Lyra said as she appeared in front of me.

I huffed. “I’ll do it.”

“I know you’re hoping that I turn out to be the one person who knows why this happened to you, but I have no idea.”

I nodded, getting up from the floor and opening the closet. I took out my clothes and dropped them to the floor with a little force, something that I had never done before.

“You know, I can always just neatly pack up all your stuff in your bags in a matter of seconds and we’ll be out of here,” Lyra said.

I crouched down and began to gently fold them. “Thanks, but I do it this way.”

“I’m just trying to make things easier for you.”

“I know.” I forced a smile. “I should have known that sooner or later, he was going to show his true colors when it came to who my father was.”

“You might be wrong and it’s actually something else. We’ll find out.”

I nodded in agreement, putting aside the packing so I could inform everyone about what had happened to me.

Max

It had only been less than an hour since I had gotten off the phone with Addison but still felt like calling her again. I had to fight the urge just so I could let her practice. I even knew how long she would take and it made me constantly check the time while reading a book.

My eyes widened in pleasant surprise when she called, making me pick up with a smirk as I flipped through the pages.

“I was actually hoping you’d call me before the time you mentioned and here we are. My wish came true. Did you miss me so much that you had to cut your training short?”

“I didn’t even get the chance to begin. I’ve been banned from the competition.”

. I paused with the book in my hand. “What? Why?”

“I don’t know. Why don’t you ask your father? He’s the one who gave the order.”

Every word she said was filled with pain and disappointment and I could feel it all. I couldn’t bear it and just wanted to get to the bottom of it, so I assured her I would find out the reason bend it.

As soon as the call ended, I told Tyler, who was just as shocked and he accompanied me to the dining table where breakfast was ready.

My father sat at the head of the table with my mother like nothing had happened, but I wasn’t going to stand for it, even if it

meant having my first confrontation with him.
