I could feel the wolfsbane wearing off permanently this time as nothing more was being given to us, but I was far from relieved after what my father had just said.
Leaning forward, he said, “All of you seem really surprised that know about this but that’s not all. I also know that Addison has the power to manipulate elements.”
My palms began to sweat, wondering why this had to happen now and just how much he knew.
“The two of you must have thought you were really smart, sneaking around like that. I have eyes and ears everywhere.”
How careless had Addison and I been that someone still told him about her abilities?
“I first heard about your inability to shift from Jess and the rest-
“Jess?” Addison spat.
He growled softly. “Why am I even wasting my time explaining myself to you?”
Suddenly, my father bared his claws and fangs as he said, “It’s quite unfortunate that none of you wanted to take part in this dinner. I wanted you to enjoy your last meal. I can’t let a family like yours continue to exist, especially you, Addison.”
Jeffrey, along with the other guards, surrounded her entire family so they wouldn’t escape and I sensed her rage and panic at that moment as she warned him.
“If you dare lay a finger on anyone here, I’ll bring this whole place down.”
He ignored her and started with her mother, holding her by the neck and shoving his hand deep into her chest so he could pull her heart out.
“I said no!” Addison cried out, holding out the palms of her hands and pushing my father away so hard that his bloody hand from deep inside her mother’s chest was forcefully yanked out and his body went flying in the air.
For the first time, my father had panic and shock written all over his face as he sat up and rested his head against the wall, my mother having a similar reaction. They both knew what Addison abilities were. They just didn’t expect her to have advanced at that level.
Addison’s eyes glowed with fury and she growled, standing right in front of her family to protect them.
Tyler and I stepped back so we wouldn’t be part of the impact but when the air around her began to swirl so she could keep everyone else away from her family, her voice overlapped with Saga’s during a warning.
At that moment, her Alpha father called out to her to calm her down, but it was all in vain. I feared that she would lose all control and bury us all. It was up to me to reach her.
On my first attempt, I called out her name to grab her attention, but the wind swirling around was so loud that she couldn’t hear me.
The overlap in voices between hers and Saga’s only grew louder with fury as she vowed to protect her family.
While most of us had seen what she could do, it had never beeno the extent of destruction and she was about to bring the whole place down as even the furniture began to float.
As long as she kept up that barrier using the wind, no one could et close to her or her family. She only meant to protect them but would end up hurting all of us if she continued.

My father shifted into his Lycan form, charging at the barrier with all his might, but just when he was within close range of it, she sent him flying in the air with just a flicker of her finger.
“Addison, stop!” Dylan yelled at the top of his lungs as they all tried to move backwards out of the barrier.
Her eyes glowed brighter, not listening to her brother.
My mother rushed to my father’s aid, who growled when he rose to his feet again.
He called in several of his best warriors, all under Jeffrey’s guide They all seemed so unsure of themselves and it was because they had already witnessed what had happened to the one who was above them all. They still had to follow orders. so they charged at the barrier again only to be sent flying in all rections by Addison’s wrath.
I even had to duck as Jeffrey’s body flew right above my head, slamming into the wall and cracking it.
Lyra should’ve been here by now. She could always sense when Addison was in danger. Was she only going to step in once I failed to control the situation?
Calling out to my mate in such a casual way didn’t work and it was then that I realized I needed to shift. Not even the furniture coming in my direction could stop me from getting a little closer.
I towered over everyone in human form but could still strongly feel the force of the barrier.
“Saga,” I growled at her.
The barrier weakened a little bit and I could see it from how everything began to float closer to the ground. It only lasted a few seconds, giving her family enough time to push past the weak barrier so they could get away.
Her father gave me a nod of approval, already aware that I was the only one who could reach her.
As soon as she noticed that her family was outside the barrier, she increased the range to bring them back in, but it was then that I stepped forward, pushing myself past the barrier. The wall around us had already begun to collapse.
The moment I roared in her face to bring her under control, she immediately put her glowing eyes away and gently touched my fur before passing out in my arms.
Everything floating in the air dropped to the floor, except the dust.
I continued to carry her even as I shifted back into human form her entire family coming closer.
“Give her to me,” her mother said, her voice a mix of rage and relief. Not even the pain in her chest stopped her from carrying her daughter.
“What’s going on here?” my father asked, still in his lycan form.
“Judging by your surprise,” Tyler chimed in. “You didn’t know about the other part.”
“What part?”
“That Max and Addison are now mates. That’s why he was the only one to calm her down.”
“That’s impossible!” my mother said. “Davina would have told that.”
“You mean our family’s witch?” I scoffed a little. “She’s the one who told you the rest? Anyway, how could she tell you something she didn’t see?”
I thought about it and realized that Lyra made sure that momer with Addison was hidden from everyone else by hiding our location and what we were up to just so we could bond.

Chapter 68
My parents had a lot to say and even tried to get closer to attack the Hunters, but an invisible force stood in their way. She may not have shown herself, but Lyra was already there with us.
Addison was still passed out in her mother’s arms with sweat dripping down forehead and heavy breathing. I was so worried that I got closer, only for her brothers to stand in my way, shaking their heads with glares.
“What you did for our sister doesn’t change the situation,” Dylan said.
I nodded in understanding and retreated, standing next to Tyler as we watched them all vanish with Lyra’s help.
“How could you do this to your own parents?” My mother’s eyes glowed as she bared her fangs at me.
I sighed. “That’s coming from someone who made us drink wol bane all day.”
I knew she could easily rip my throat if she wanted to, so Tyler and I kept our distance as she went on a rant.
Our father lowered his head with clenched fists, still stuck on the fact that he knew nothing about the most important part.
“I should have known you were looking for options when you first asked me about werewolves of Addison’s kind.” She snarled. “Did I put the idea inside your head that you should make her your mate?”
“You’re absolutely wrong about that. Fate made it this way and-”
“Enough!” My father cut me off, tightly wrapping his hand around my throat. “You dare speak that way about someone who almost killed us all by bringing this place down?”
Not
my mother’s pleas could make him loosen his grip.
“You
about to murder her family.” My voice was strained.
He chuckled in a sinister way, his eyes glowing a bright red. “Not only am I your father, but I’m also the Alpha and the Lycan King. You’re loyal to me before anyone else. That’s why you’ll follow my orders. This is what you’re going to do.”
