Mysterious mate to the lycan prince (Addison and Max) novel Chapter 76

Chapter 76: Broken

Chapter 76: Broken

Addison

Even though it hurt to think about how the passionate hours Max and I had spent together turned out to be the reason he had betrayed me, I couldn’t even dwell on it as Warrick clawed Aunt Nora’s cheek so hard that the pain made me wince as I touched my own cheek. There were no open wounds or blood, but it felt like it.

I was still waiting for Lyra to do something, anything to make it all stop and find a way to rescue my aunt, but I couldn’t call out to her even though I could physically sense her. It was horrible to see and experience it all. I cried when my aunt did, screamed when she did and growled when she did.

Just for the next step, Warrick stepped aside, his Luna breaking my aunt’s legs, toes and fingers. I suffered in agony as I felt every crack and couldn’t even move for a while.

Max was still in the back, looking on like he was amused. I wished I could get my hands on him. After everything we’d been through together just to make it work between us. I’d gone against my family’s decision in the end for us, and there he was, showing me which side he was on. That only angered me more, but there was nothing I could do at that moment.

When Aunt Nora was brought to her knees now that she wasn’t able to stand on her own, Warrick got on one knee, looked straight into her eyes, then spoke to me in a smooth but cruel voice.

“You’re nothing but a child and I’ll show you that no one is above the Lycan King’s power.”

He roughly grabbed her jaw, squeezing hard like he was about to break it too. I could feel his hand on me.

“Any last words, Nora?” He sneered.

“No!” I screamed, certain she could hear me.

“Addie,” her voice was deeply strained with all those broken bones.

“Yes, Aunt.” My voice trembled hard as I was scared for her and I could still feel her pain.

“Whatever happens to me… don’t let them turn you into a… monster.”

Tears rushed down my cheeks and I could taste them in my mouth.

“No. Don’t cry.” She chuckled through the pain and I could imagine her giving me one last smile. “It’s okay. You’ Il be all right. Take care of everyone back ho-”

Her words were cut off when Warrick shoved his hand into her chest, making me inhale sharply with wide eyes as I gasped for air.

“You just had to turn it into a whole speech,” he said to her with gritted teeth, twisting his hand in her chest.

I couldn’t breathe as I felt him secure a grip around the heart and I knew there was no stopping what came

next.

Just a second after it felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest, a force pushed me back into my body and everything went blank.

For a few seconds, I lay still and when I opened my eyes, I was back on the shore, looking right at the waves of the sea gently crashing into each other.

Lyra groaned and I glanced at her as she opened her eyes while sitting up. “That bitch shut me out and I passed out. What happened?”

I processed what had just happened to me and realized what Warrick had just done to my aunt by ripping her

heart out.

“No!” I got on my knees, the sea waves crashing a little harder into each other as I could feel Saga’s rage

within me.

“I’m sorry I couldn’t help,” Lyra said softly, coming close and placing her hand on my shoulder. “I was no match for Davina and the power she channeled.”

Chapter 76. Broken

“Aunt Nora.” My voice was terrifyingly steady with wide eyes. “She’s-she-s gone. H-he took her from me. He ripped her heart out.”

“They’re all going to pay!” Saga said out loud. I felt her violently surging and I was so broken that I didn’t try to stop it.

Quickly, Lyra crouched down in front of me, placing her hands on the sides of my face. “Listen to-”

“Which way is Pike Hill?” My voice and Saga’s overlapped with a burning fury, the sea waves crashing into each other harder as they began to rise.

Lyra jerked her head in that direction to see, then looked back at me with concern. “You should know by now that by doing things like this, it’ll only lead to-”

“I said which way is Pike Hill?” I snapped.

She sighed in defeat as she dropped her hands from my cheeks. “East, but Addison, I know you’re upset, but you can’t do this without Max.”

“Don’t you dare say his fucking name!” The rage behind my response made the waves rise like towering walls that awaited direction. Even the wind began to spiral around the two of us, getting ready to accompany what I was about to release.

The energy inside of me was already out of control, but I didn’t want to stop..

“You have to listen to me! Without him and Koa, the only way you’ll be able to calm down is when you pass out,” she said. “Neither of us know when that’ll happen and it’s a long way to get to the palace. You don’t know who’ll get hurt in the process. You have to stop before it’s too late!”

I never expected her to be on my side, which was why I wasn’t surprised. I just wanted to have things my way for what had been done to my aunt.

She tried to touch me and make me stop, but I gently pushed her away despite the rage I carried. I didn’t want to hurt her.

“Addison!”

She must’ve called out to me several times, but I couldn’t tell because her voice quickly became distant as I let Saga take over just enough for that attack.
