No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 639

Salena's question immediately drew everyone's attention. Everyone heard that the engagement between the Greene and Merlock families had fallen through because Cedric had fallen for another woman and dumped Laura.

Noelle felt uncomfortable under the weight of the crowd's scrutinizing gazes. She met Cedric's eyes. They were unreadable, betraying none of his thoughts.

Cedric stared at her. "Not yet."

Ruth smirked to herself. She knew it! There was no way Cedric would take a nobody as his girlfriend. It was just a passing affection. In the end, he would still marry someone of his status.

Ruth now regretted sending Laura away to the hospital with Emma. Laura should have been here to witness this moment.

Men were all the same. Despite their honeyed words, they knew where their obligations lay.

Salena pressed, "But didn't you just call Ms. Liddell your girlfriend?"

Cedric's voice softened. "Because I haven't won her over yet. Everything is just my wishful thinking."

Noelle's heart fluttered. She hadn't expected Cedric to put himself so lowly for her.

Salena's smile stiffened, and she turned to Noelle with a surprised look. She had underestimated Noelle. Who would have thought she could have Cedric wrapped around her finger?

Ruth also maintained a strained smile. After all, how could she possibly be happy that her potential son-in-law had suddenly been snatched away?

"Cedric, you better work harder. Noelle is quite popular at school and has plenty of admirers," Mia teased. She looped her arm around Noelle's and added, "Someone else might steal her away."

The price is only 1/4 of what others charge
